Had a great time out at the MORE race. We got out there around noon to set up an incar and play around before the race. I was really impressed with the turnout, it seemed like a lot of people came out that normally isnt there. We pretty much hung out at Pit B most of the race. The Class 1's were flying across the road crossing. The Prep by Jake 12 car also was fast through there. Saw a couple car get out of shape but all in all it was a good section to watch. We then went over to start finish to watch the finishers come in.

All in all it was a great race and we all had a great time. On another note it's a shame to come out to these types of events and have to deal with idiots who show no respect for everyone except the race team they help out there by acting like some 10 year old kids. I thought it was quite funny and sad at the same time, personally I wouldnt like someone like that helping out my class 1 team. All it does is lower the standards of the team and in the big picture gives others the impression that our little community is made up of dis-respectful people that have nothing better to do than litter the desert, drink their cheap beer and act like children. Oh well, all he did was make a fool out of himself in front of me, friends and the team he helped and lie to their faces. Sorry for the rant .... http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats to all the winners and finishers !!!

74 starters, way to go Jim!

Lots of carnage before and during the race, it seemed more like El Mirage then Barstow.

Bill Markel, did you hire a ringer? http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/wink.gif You where on it!

What happened at pit B?

When did the common courtesy of turning off your high beams or driving lights for oncoming traffic stop, especially on Stoddard Wells Road? Lots of prerunners running around pretending to be race vehicles.

Here's a picture of a 1/2-1600 car prepared for a long night.

The problem with the few people wasn't at Pit B, it was back at the teams main pit right at start finish after the top 3 class 1's finished.

My favorite part was when this guy told me to get out of his face when I was 6 feet away .... haha. He wasn't worth my time so I turned my back to him to continue to watch the race but he insisted on trying to throw his weight around and cause problems until the actual owner and driver came over to see what was going on and his whole song and dance did a 180. Some people are just pathetic. This 30+ year old guy was a true role model for the kids that were hanging around him ...... NOT.

Don't need to dwell on this as it's not a big deal in the big picture, just a shame some people act like that. Let's here some positive stories about the race !!

Their we some good class 7 battles after the road crossing going up the hill at pit B.

Fish didnt end up racing as he has too much stuff going on right now and didnt have enough time to get the truck ready. The next MDR race is pretty much right around the corner for him.

First overall at the more race was Bryan Freeman. Bryan had a flat on lap 1 and 2 then ran smooth for the next 2 laps he had another flat on lap 5 and on the 6th lap put the car in gear and took the 1600 class along with the overall

Malloy will be racing the next pro1600 race in Jean Aug 7th along with all the top 1600 racers. that race will be a real test, but Mike needs a better finish than the last pro1600 race in April to win

Had a great time at the MORE race as usual. We had the lead in 7s and disaster struck . Cased the rear-end on a large rock developing a leak, had a rear tire pound itself loose breaking the studs and ejecting a tire at speed. Tranny and shocks were right on the money, NEXT TIME WE FINISH !!! Roger Byrd #755

hey Byrd, sorry and glad to hear that. http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif we got second due to your problems. you did fly by us pretty good, good looking truck. but hey, that;s racing right. looks like steve and us had good radio communications with our pits, we always new were each other was on the course. we were cruisin last lap knowing we could not catch 1st and that third was far enough back, but then the radio transmitted that third was catching up to us fast so we gassed it the last 5 miles or so for the second place finish. had a blast. thanks to all the 7s guys for a pretty decent turnout. makes for great racing.

How about this, at about 7:30-7:45 we had a limit strap bolt break and spit an axel, of course, right in a wash, of course
the radio would not get out to anyone so we walked for about 1.5 miles to get cell reception. GOOD TIMES!!
Slept good in the dirt next to the car waiting, the car owner could not find us. Oh, did I mention it wasn't until about 2:45AM that we got towed in.....7 hours after breaking, as a matter of fact, we didn't even have our light covers off yet when the car broke. sweet.....

Man we (111) passed you twice in the wash. You guys were just kicking back like there was no problem. If you would have gave some type of signal we would have stop. It looked like everthing was cool and help was on the way. I remember talking to my co-rider about what a ** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**ty place to break and what a pain in the [I have been warned] it was going to be getting you out.

If you held out your mike out or put your hand up like you we talking on a phone we would have called in you location to MORE.

Sorry for not stopping but you guys look way to calm.

Thanks frank, but it was no problem, we had more then enough water and were not concerned, we didn't want to slow anyone down, and thought that our team would be there any minute. I've spent more nights in the desert like that then I care to remember, so it wasn't anything too new. As a matter of fact, I was so not concerned that I actually fell asleep for about 2 hours, while you guys were going by and I didn't even wake up. The driver couldn't believe I could sleep with all the noise being so close to the track...
Thanks again! http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Brian got a run for his money by Jimmy Messick in his M&T Racing built car. All I know is that he had a 4:30 lead in Freeman buy the start of the third lap. That boy was hauling the mail and not looking back.... http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Looking at the More 7 page I saw the majority of the 7 trucks broke to the diffs breaking. I would really like to know what each one broke and how we can stop this from happening as much

Well I would guess it would have to do with rocks. There were a lot of rocks in big holes. I bottomed out on some in the one car and Carolyn cracked the third member on her truck. But that is just a guess.
