Here is a pic of my truck. I need to connect the 4" outlet from the UMP filter to the intake. its a Toyota 3.4 V6. The reason I got a 4" UMP is because I might put a big V8 in the truck some day.
The problem is that the cage isn't making this very easy. Has anyone ever seen a 4" to 3" rubber 90 elbow? I could mount that to the UMP, then a 3" aluminum tube to a 3" 90 to the mass airflow sensor, then another 90 from the MAS to the intake. I have a friend that got a 90 radiator hose for a big truck and used that on his 22RE intake, but I still need the 4" to 3".
I saw that UMP offers some tube and elbows, but not 4" to 3" elbows.

Try Home Depot, they have that type of stuff in the plumbing department to connect assorted sizes of ABS pipe.-Josh

Try "turbonetics" they sell the bushings in all sizes along with the high dollar hose clamps and stuff. If you cant find a dealer, I know my friend Jim sells them at his shop "MechTech Motorsports" in Escondido. What we ended up doing on my dads 4.3 V6 and 4inch UMP was putting the bushing on the intake, and running all 4 inch tube. Good luck

Can we see more pictures of your truck???

Curtis,
relatively local, too. It says the silicone ones are NOT compatible with fuel or oil.

Haveing already been in this situation, I can say your not going to get an elbow with a tight enough radius to get under the tube on the cage. Just use a 4" elbow over the top and make a tappered alum connector tube. You can oval the 4" end a little for hood clearance. Kinda like this.

thanks everyone. I will either post a link to pics on my site, or make a skunkz of my truck in the next couple of months.
Brian, I was trying to find the pics of your friends T100, thanks for posting that one. If I remember right I think I only have about 2.5" - 2.75" of clearance from that area of the cage to the hood, but maybe it will fit if I oval the tube. And I don't think I have as straight of a shot to the intake. I would probably have to use a 45 where your blue hose is, then a 90 at the intake side.
The other idea I was thinking of was to cut into the 4" part of the UMP and have my friend TIG weld a 3" aluminum tube at almost a 90 coming right off the UMP, then fill in the gap with aluminum. Then I could go under the cage.

Yeah, I had to put a mitter cut in the middle of that one to get a little clearance angle on that one. It still held the hood up a little. An easy fix with a BFmallet http://www.race-dezert.com/vb3/attachments/old/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Brian, what did you use for the connection from the MAS to the intake? because the MAS is about 3" and the intake is 2.75"
I figured out what I am going to do but the 3" elbow that I have is a little big for the intake side. I can either try and clamp it down or shim it with some rubber like a motorcycle tube maybe. I just don't want a leak at all and destroy the engine.....
