Allright who has them out yet or who is working on them. I don't like my 2" of up travel in the front.

It is the four door 2wd.

at the nissan dealer I used to work at I installed the CST 8" kit all the time on those things. I think the kit itself runs about $1600. They look really nice when done up with 18" wheels and 35's. But I dont think its worth the extra $12K the dealer was getting for the already lifted trucks.

Isn't TC working on or already has parts for the Titans?

That spring spacer looks like it wood mess up my ride by adding more "preload" right? Not a suspension expert but that does not look like the best solution just a fast and cheep one. I wanted something a little better quality anybody have good or bad experience with CST. They have a 2.5 and 8" lift.

From what I can tell by just looking at it, it will not add preload to the spring. It just increases the distance between the top of the shock/strut top on the body of the truck,(notice the shock shaft is still in the same relative location to the spring) thereby raising the truck. The truck should retain the stock suspension travel in both directions. The geometry will be a little different, as your control arms will be angled down more.

Now granted, I don't have a clue what the stock setup looks like.

Gregs kit does not increase the spring rate or preload.

CST does not offer a 2.5" kit. CST sells the Daystar kit using Daystar parts with CST part numbers. The Daystar kit does increase spring preload and in general is just not a very good kit. If you have a Titan with the Off-Road package forget about installing the Daystar kit... it'll finish off the factory "Rancho" strut in short order. The Rancho strut is a steaming pile of crap and Titan owners can't wait until a quality replacement is offered.

The CST kit is currently as good as it gets. We sell a ton of these kits to Nissan dealerships and they are cleaning up. They double the price of the kit, double the price of the wheels and tires, and customers pay it all day long because they can "finance" the aftermarket parts with low rates. CST can't build the kits fast enough right now.

The ProComp 6" kit will be available in about 30 days. It'll debut at SEMA and then should go on sale by the end of November. It has an expected jobber price of around $1800.00 without shocks. I am generally not a huge ProComp suspension lift fan so if it were my truck I'd wait a month or two to see how their new Titan kit holds up.

Fabtech also has a 6" kit coming out. The actual prototype has been running around for a few months now. Fabtech will for sure have this kit on display at SEMA and should have it available to purchase for the holiday lift kit buying season. Not sure what the jobber price on the Fabtech kit will be.

The best inexpensive leveling kit on the market is the Gagnon Motorsports kit. Greg Gagnon, United Prerunners Greg, Rialto Offroad Raceway Greg, is machining these and they work great. This kit does NOT increase spring preload, it simply spaces the entire strut down. This kit is currently backordered and since Greg is on his honeymoon I'd imagine there will be a pretty good backorder list by the time he gets back. PM Greg if you have any specific questions, he'd be happy to answer them I'm sure.

Aloha

Doesnt add preload since it is on top of the coilover. If it stuffed the spring down to fit the spacer in like some kits it would change the preload.

I made that same thing for my F150...the only thing that changed the ride was the 35s I put on.

I would also recommend limit straps with that kit since now your wheel can droop that much farther which may cause a ball joint failure down the road.

If you arent beating it up and want it level...get a spacer. I only needed something to get me down bessmer mine road as well as to all the other ** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**** ĦAy, caramba!**ty race spots I go to every weekend without scraping my a arms like it did when stock. I dont have the cash to go beat up a $31k truck!

The valving of the stock shock is crap when switching to larger tires...at least the ford is.

You could wait untill Christmas and the new Donahoe Racing Titan Coil-over will be out. 0-3" of lift 2.5" shock.. We will be doing some more testing on these new shocks in the Baja 1000 with the Donahoe Racing Nissan Titan stock full. If you are going to the Race check them out... The same off-the-shelf shock will be on the truck. Here is a picture.

jeff

Some of the leveled Titan trucks are running 315/70R17's - one truck I saw was running 325/60R18's and the owner said it just barely cleared... which means it probably rubs a little.

I hope this is not a trick question because the answer is STOCK FULL.
There are 8 entries so far in the Baja 1000. I don't see Donahoes's name yet.

Chris, Its not entered yet. Bob Graham will be Driving it in the 1000. Its Bobs Program.. We just built all the shocks. Its ganna be fun. I will be Driving my stock mini Toyota at the bottom of the course to the finish as well as Driving from Bay of LA to Constitution in the Groff Class 1 Car. But if no one shows up in Stock mini then the morning of the race we will enter the Toyota in 7s under Bob Grahams name so he can get his points. Thats the plan at least.

The Main thing is we are Really excited about the Release of our new Titan Coil-over. It really works great. Should be groovy and copied by everyone soon.

Greg, you might want to wait just a little bit until we finalize these babies... The shaft and can are differnt and the Valving is really wierd. Once we get it dialed I will set you up with the specs...

P.s. How was EXPO for you guys... Did everything work out good?

Greg
November 7th, 2004, 19:52
Kreg, the expo was great, thanks again. I just couldn't wait to get some good shocks on my titan. And Im sure you guys will sell bundles of those coil-overs as the stock shocks suck.
