I heard that all TT, Class1, Class 10, and ProTrucks have to run a tracking device that is in an enclosed box that allows SCORE to check when someone is speeding on the highway, and also if someone takes a shortcut. I believe that every car racing SCORE next year will have to run the tracking device. also #55 on the entry list is Bob Gordon wasn't he going to race with Robby?????

IS TRUE
this is from the score website

Dear Competitor,

Congratulations! SCORE salute’s your spirit of adventure as an official entry in next month’s 37th Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, the legendary granddaddy of all desert races. After the recent exciting drawing at the Off Road Expo, this year’s race is certain to add some memorable moments to the legacy of this awesome event.

You have heard that SCORE experimented at the recent SCORE Las Vegas Primm 300 with the use of a special ‘black box’ in four SCORE entries. The purpose was a test to record GPS data and speed at various locations on the course.

The experiment worked so well that SCORE has MANDATED the use of the “Rally Logger” in the following classes:
· SCORE Trophy-Truck
· Class 1
· Class 10
· Protruck

This letter is your official notification that you are REQUIRED to lease the “Rally Logger” from Rally Track, who will provide it to you in sufficient time for mounting in your race vehicle and at quote you the actual cost.

This “Rally Logger” must remain in the race vehicle until removed by a SCORE official at the finish line in La Paz. If you don’t finish the race, other arrangements will be made to retrieve the instrument from your team. The data collected will be downloaded immediately after your finish and compared to the official SCORE log. This is to verify the route your vehicle traveled and your speeds on paved highway sections. Any penalties and/or disqualifications will be issued at that time.

As a reminder, the purpose for the use of these special “Rally Loggers” is to help facilitate a safer race and to ensure that participants adhere to the course rules for this race.

We believe this is a great opportunity to assist our sport and we anticipate your full and complete support.

Please read and understand the enclosed letter from Rally Track.

Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you in Ensenada and in La Paz!

Sincerely,

Sal Fish,
CEO & President
