I just got back from a ride, and I had noticed it before, but now its doing it worse, my dirtbike is cutting out really bad when Im riding in 4th gear, someone told me it might be the clutch, what do you guys think

Is the hose coming out the gas cap pinched? That will cause this behavior. Have you check the float height? Maybe the height is off not allowing enough fuel in the bowl.

When you say cutting out, are you referring to power at the wheels, meaning engine still runs strong, or the engine loses power completely.

where at in 4th gear is it cutting out??? high revv's or just cruisin??

like mike said check the gas line make sure that it isnt pinched or not kinked at a weird angle at the carb or coming out of the peatcock...

could possibly be jetting, or something... are you riding in the same place as before, or are you changing altitudes?? also all the water around in the air from the recent rains can play a little factor and make it run kinda weird...

It only does it in fourth gear and because I can just about bounce that thing off the rev-limiter in third gear and it runs strong. But as soon as I do it in fourth it just sputters, because it doesnt feel like the clutch is slipping. It will give me a strong burst of power and then die then a burst then die, and it continues this way

Jetting first, JD jet kit worked for me. If you are in the Dezert and your gearing is low are you hitting the rev limiter? I personally did not ever get used to my 450 in the dez, I am changing bikes right now. I was told that Pearson came through the tech stuff at Desert MC almost pinned using the clutch to slow through the rocks.
