Dunlop ruined my weekend

Grabbed the hole shot to the bomb after an awful 3 kick start… and then the bike started boggin, I started grabbin gears and it just got worse…I came to a stop to assess the situation, looked down and the tire was wasted, tube was wrapped in the sprocket and my race was ruined so I waved on the other racers with a thumbs up that I had just put the wood to.

I cut the tube out of the sprockets, limped it back to the pits, got my partner to get back out on the course since it was a team race. When he hit the course about 45 minutes after I started the race he was already getting lapped by the overall team.

I ended up racing my partners KTM 300 that felt like a mini bike and had worse suspension then my ol ladies TTR. After fighting the thing for about 3 miles and doing a few supermans from the thing bottoming so dam hard I gave up and just sat down for a trail ride through 37 miles of cross grain, clapped out chop. The bike gave me blisters from hell making me unable to race Sundays race. We ended up 2nd or 3rd in class and got points.

Dunlop is definitely getting a phone call about ruining my weekend! Less then 5 miles on the tire…and a brand new wheel that is now pitted.

What tire Kris? 739? 756? I can't believe you strayed from Paul! I guess that's just how it goes sometimes. I've never had a 739 fail....they just dont last worth a you know what.

I didnt stray from paul. he sponsors me, but this tire was free so I ran it.

Could the tire cords have been damaged when the tire was mounted? I had this happen to a dunlop 756(tire cords were damaged).

Chris, Big E told me what happened, I was at check 2 on Sat. My dad was at last years DMC national waiting for me to finish, a guy hit the one loop finish and his rear tire literally exploded. It blew off the rear fender, shock guard, and airbox. Pieces of rubber and plastic hit my dad and he was about 50 feet away.

yeah it was crazy...I played raquet ball with lipert tonite and he inspected it and couldnt explain it either. He doesnt think the cords were ripped when mounted becausse he said it would have made a awful noise.

A little off subject but what would you guys recomend for the ultimate Baja tire?? I have a yzf 426.............

Maxxis Desert IT 120/100-18 with a HD tube

Dunlop 756 in front or Maxxis Desert IT with a bib mousse from michellin or tire balls.
