I have raced a few GPs and all say that Hilltoppers is the most desert racer friendly GP. I guess they mean you dont have to be Mr. Motocross. I am trying to make it.

I dont think GPs are anything like moto or desert and thats why I dont race em usually. You get a clapped out moto track thats more like a vet track with no jumps, all tore up and lots of turns...the "desert" section is usually a straight away that resembles nothing of desert!

Im thinking I want to race this weekend as this is usually the best one plus i want to ride pretty bad...regardless if its a lame GP.

Gotsta remember that it is in 29 Palms, the desert. The track is man made for the event and IMO the worst part is the sandbagging MX guys that come out to race. Try eat cu will like et.

Thanks Eric, its always nice to put a name with a face, moving up is probably the thing to do, the novice class is exactly what it says, NOVICE! Two guys crashed hard right in front of me on the first lap before going up the hill. I don't know what he thought he saw but he drove right up the rear tire of the guy he was attempting to pass. As they got together I rode right under the quad as it bounced about 8 feet high. One of the guys was Pingry's son, 16 years old, his first race. He broke his arm. I don't know who the other one was but I saw the Helocopter come after the race. I hope & pray that he is OK. That was a hard get off.
I'm glad we only did the wide open back section 3 times, the 450's were killing me!

we where looking at the size of your line and it looks like they are getting enough people now that they should start that 4th line for a beginers class. you didnt seem to be having that much trouble with 450's that i noticed. i mean i know you had one on your azz when you got by me when i got cut off by that girl on the blaster but you passed me like i was standing still and i couldnt catch back up. now you need to come out and try a desert race.

I plan on doing some desert races, which ones are quad friendly, which ones are you planning on racing. I can't go for more than 35-40 miles. Anything more than that, you are going to give me a ride back in. Are the quads considered red numbers? Do they have different classes & classifications for the quads?

at district 37 quads are red numbers. we only go 1 loop at any desert race unless its a european scramble then we'll do 2 but they are short loops. the race this week end is my clubs race. its usually a good one and quadable. badgers next month will be a good one to start with. saturday is the easyest of the 2 days. sunday is usually more challanging.
