I've found a couple pages with info, but they're written by the same guy. Would be nice to to get some collaboration. Goolging turns up 50 bazillion results. Anyone got some links to share on XR's in general and XR250's in particular?

Oh, Already found XR's Only.

Try ThumperTalk http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/index.php and also search the Yahoo Groups. I'm part of a XR650R Yahoo Group. I'm sure I saw one for XR250s.

What do you want to know about XR250s? I have a '91.

Mine is a '91 as well. Looking specifically at the jetting issue, but also just looking to edumakate myself about the bike.
Thanks for the link.

As far as jetting goes, I...

1. Tossed the stock air filter assembly and installed a Uni filter assembly.
2. Removed the airbox snorkel.
3. Added three Uni 1" vents to the right side of the airbox.
4. Replaced the stock muffler with a Cobra muffler (White Bros. works well too).
5. Changed the main jet from a 125 to a 128.
6. Changed the pilot jet from a 40 to a 42.
7. Lowered the needle clip one position (to the third groove I think).
8. Set the mixture screw to about 2-1/4 turns out.

It runs like a champ in the Mojave desert (2500'-3500', 55-80 degrees).

The suspension is just OK if you weigh less than 160 lbs. If you're more than that, install heavier fork and shock springs and/or have a shop revalve the suspension. XRs Only can help with that.

SD, thanks for that. Haven't weighed 160 since my HS days. Sigh......

I'll google Just XR's too, thanks.

Like already mentioned, can't go wrong with thumpertalk.com. I'm sure there's a XR250 section...
