I was just talking to the owner of the company that sells this nut. He says he has a design that would be "customer unique". They can be made in 1/2-20 for shock bolts. He currently doesnt sell them because they arent cheap enough to make. My question is, how much are your shocks worth, and are you interested in something like this??

I think everyone would buy then at say $5 each. in other words $20 for a set of four and most people need 6 or 8. What about 1/2-13? Guess we could just go to fine thread

I know it can be a deterent which can help a lot....but it seems to me that it will take just a little time before any bastard who would want to be able to steal your shocks can just buy the socket and have them as easily as before.....sort of like "tamper proof" torx bits, which you can now buy the bits for just about anywhere. JMHO....no offense to anyone.....

Someone that is that set on getting shocks will get them NO MATTER WHAT. This is to deter the morons with a 3/4" wrench and socket. And unless they become the absolute standard it just means more protectection for us who buy them. I still like a spacer with a huge weld that has to be cut off!!!!!!!

I'm heading out in about 5 minutes for some "professional training" but do a search for McGard transom locks. They're relatively inexpensive, come in 1/2 20, and WILL stop the SOB with a pipe wrench. They're not completely theft proof but pretty d**n good.
