Anybody heading up to the Mammoth Mountain Motocross?

June 24 2005(Friday) Open Bikes (301cc+), Women, and Schoolboy
June 25 2005(Saturday) 125cc's
June 26 2004(Sunday) 250cc's

I'm thinking about heading up and hitting the mountain (still have plenty of snow) and watching some MX... so who's going?

I get back from Japan next friday (6/17) at 10am and am heading straight up there. Who needs practice....it just wears you out!! I'm racing saturday and sunday for the vet weekend.

Also might head back up the following weekend to help some friends out in the pro races....we'll see.
Anybody else???

We stopped in Mammoth for the races last year on the way back from V2R. They were saying that it was the last one??? Something about the race not generating enough revenue for the city to justify the environmental impact or some such nonesense. That track is rad, super loamy dirt!

There is tons of $$ generated by the event. Normally during the summer months you've only got your mountain bikers in/around town that don't really spend much money. The mx race brings in quite a bit of $$ over the week and a half that it's in town.

Last year was supposed to be the last year (again...they've said it multiple years!) but they finally got a special use permit for 5 years I believe.

And I must agree....the track is one of the most fun tracks I've ever ridden, and I've been to quite a few in a multiple countries.

I'm still in Japan testing, and all I can think of is getting on the plane tomorrow (actually friday) so that I can get up to mammoth and ride!!
