In a perfect world the slip-yoke would slide and not put any fore/aft load on the carrier bearing. Can you lube the slip? Does it have ANY axial play?
The one on my yota siezed the bearing & spun it out of the rubber. Since it was done anyway I took it apart. On those it's a std cartridge bearing with some sheetmetal stampings pressed over it, which then index into the rubber. As an experiment I replaced the bearing itself and reassembled everything. Then I filled the void in the rubber as best I could with RTV. It's been in there for a couple years now.
Long term plan is to go to a one piece driveshaft. My one year newer auto truck (both 4x4's) had a one piece and I used it in Patch while I was working on the bearing.

$70 times 5 bearings = new one piece drive shaft. You will save money fast!

What are you running for rear suspension? It sounds like a geometry problem.
As for a single piece drive shaft on an X-Cab ranger; don't do it.

Floor board clearance for sure but a one piece substitute is over 60" and the DS shop says that over 60" is too long to balance a steel DS properly. Aluminum one piece will balance but dings real easy.

basically the rear suspension hasnt been changed in the last 10k miles .blocks on the back nothing special there.whats happening is the bearing on the carrier is being pulled out of the rubber casing.the drive shaft is moving backwards til it hits the carrier pushes out the inner bearing then the drive shaft rubs on the rubber casing on the carrier and it obviously squeals.just recently this has been occuring i cant even go around the block and its pulled apart. Its to hot here to rally this time of year so i havnt dinged the shaft in the desert,i do use my truck.help?
