I have a 98 f150 4x4 and am trying to find stiffer front torsion bars. From what I have found, there are no after-market bars without buying a lift kit. I checked with Ford, I can use light duty f250 bars, but they are letter coded, off a tag on the bars. As you can imagine there are no tags left on any of the bars I can look at and they show no GVW ratings in the parts catalog. Anybody have any answers??
Thanks
Karl

maybe go to a dealership and prowl around? or go to the service dept. more than likely that will know what part numbers will go to what models.

What do all the BITD stock class trucks run like Rob Mac and Dixon Bros? What do they do for torsions?

If Ford keeps things static then the codes work the same for F150's as Rangers. Heres how the codes work for Rangers.
Spring rates by torsion bar code:

<-higher lower->
1 2 B D E F K L

So, the lower the number, the higher the spring rate, once again assuming the F150 works the same as a Ranger. Hope that helps.

Dixon Bros. and Camburg are both running stock t-bars. I think Rob Mac is as well.

Whos know what Rob uses................But we use a Explorer Sportrac torsion bar. It is about 150% stiffer than a standard Ranger T-bar. They are about $70 each.
