A lot of stores (Best Buy, Movie Stores, Wal Marts etc. etc) around my house have been selling out of copies of the movie!! sounds like its getting a lot of fan attention and a lot of feed back. Ive been getting a lot kids at my school telling me about the movie and how they've seen it 4 to 5 times in the last week and how awesome of a movie it is!!

Looks like Dust to Glory has been a real hit!!

D2G is #32 on Amazon.com's top seller list. That's really good considering the thousands of DVDs they sell.

Went to Walmart in Chino Hills to get it, not there so maybe they sold out already? Thought about going to Target but just rented it at Hollywood instead. Found out the next day my friend picked up the very last one at Target. I am going to hit Walmart in San Dimas tonight to see if it is there.

I'm Really Kinda Stoked Its Selling Out!
Its Sucks Trying To Find It If You Haven't Yet!
But The Up Side Is If It Generates $. The Studios
Will Put Money In To Simular Projects.

Picked up 2 yesterday at the Walmart at 76 and College in O'side. They had 3 more which may or may not still be there. It was my 3rd Walmart (Sycamore and Nordhal were sold out) and Fry's in San Marcos was also sold out. If you're going to drive to look for one I suggest driving the yellow pages first to see if they even have one. Most places will hold one for you while you drive over.

Another $0.02

Curtis and Klaus had plenty at the Motorsports show this weekend. One stop, no running around, and bought from the best source.

You know I cant help but think that most stores are buying them in small numbers assuming that they might not sell & thats why their selling out everywhere...
Or people are really hungry for it?

But I'm starting to suspect they'ed buy 100 copys of lets say Herbie the Luv bug & 25 of D2G....

The problem is that they cannot be found, my girl has been going to 2-3 stores a day in Mission Viejo, RSM, and El Toro since the morning it was released, pretty soon I am going to have to order it on-line. The only place she has seen one was at BlockBuster and that was to Rent, and that doesn't do me any good.:(

No, you miss under stood me.....
its not the DVD distributer..
Its the stores that are selling them....
they only buy what they think they'll sell other wise they get stuck with all these DVD's nobodys buying...
What I'm saying is if it did big in the theaters then they would of bought more Figuring it will sell!

I could be wrong ....
But thats my theory of why they keep selling out..

Got mine at walmart in Colton inbetween riverside and san bernardino. There were at least a couple left on the shelf. I also think they are selling out due to the stores not expecting to sell as many as they have. Either way it is a good thing people are buying it.

if your in the HB area check out DVD Planet, they had a pretty good stock of them. the guy in front of me at the checkout was buying D2G also and said this was the 3rd place he'd been cuz it was sold out at the other places.

in regards to stores buying a lower number of copies, that's true. most large stores prolly didn't buy 100 copies cuz they didn't think it would sell like it did. BUT since they are selling out they will buy more, it's the same way with Independant label bands with they're CD's. you only find 1 or 2 copies and if they are bought quickly the store will buy more.

I bought the last copy at the Target near downtown Dallas last Thursday. It was in the "New Releases" stand with a bunch of other different DVDs, none of which looked close to selling out. I was pleased I got a chance to buy a copy for myself, and even more pleased that as far east as Dallas it appears to be selling well.

I can not find it in Phoenix. No one knew what I was talking about with the exception of Target. But, of course, they were sold out.

Ok 80,000 people sure sounds like alot!
But when you compare it to you typical hollywood film that Nothing...
Hell I think gigli ( Or what ever that J-lo & Ben aflec film was called) made more than that & it was considered a complete Bomb....

But I suppose this was not really a hollywood movie....http://www.thewebwheeler.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif

So does anybody know what the film cost to make...?
Are they at least making a profit ?
or breaking even?

I work in the Film Biz... & I know how incrediably expensive it can be to shoot a film of this size....
I mean heck they had How many cameras on this job!

Hey Everybody,

I can help with this a little as Dana has publicily stated numbers in the past. The total production cost of D2G was just over 2 million dollars, plus the additional PR and marketing costs that went into the film. You have to remember too that nearly all of the labor (such as mine) that went into making D2G was done with the hopes of making any money on the back end, which, as you can image, means that none of us -- even the production team -- has made any money in bringing D2G to life.

We'll see what happens on the DVD side. At least there is one great piece of news. Unlike Ben and Jay-Lo, at least we can all look at that movie in 5 years and be not want to hurl!!

Cheers,
Marty Fiolka

I noticed on amazon.com, where I ordered mine, the DVD is 98th top seller and supposedly is updated hourly. I don't know if that's good or not but top 100 in such a big website must be pretty good. Also, they have a link on "Top Ten Manliest Movies" and "On Any Sunday" is ranked #10!

I just watched D2G on DVD again and it still gives me chills. I have never been down to the 1000 but everytime I watch the movie it inspires me to one day compete in it. Thank you for making this movie.
