I have a recently acquired a 94 Ranger with a 4cyl. It was in an accident that broke the motor mounts and bent the tranny crossmember. The motor ran fine before the accident and was rebuilt only about 15k miles ago. When I first start the engine it runs and idles fine but is a little low on power. When it gets up to operating temp it hesitates bad and make very little power, but idles ok. It has a new radiator and does not overheat, I fixed a vacuum leak it had but that did not solve it. I checked all 8 spark plug wires for spark. The plugs look ok. It does not use coolant or oil. Any ideas? Anyone familiar with this engine want to get paid to diagnose the problem? Know of any honest repair shops that will not bend me over? Please help! Thanks!

A couple months ago but I didn't really get anywhere with it. With all the Rangers around no one has a good mechanic they can recommend? If it was a Toyota I would have it running great a long time ago.

i think i said this before but ill say it again. its possible the timing belt jumped a tooth in the impact. id check that.

could also be a damaged PCM.

also, disconnect the inertia switch and wire it up straight. its possible that it tripped partialy and is not sending full voltage to the fuel pump.

maybe a physically broken O2 sensor from the crash? does it have any codes?

ign module.......

Check the gap on the crank trigger?
