I have been in Europe and Africa for most of the last 2 months. I just wanted to check in and say thanks for all the emails and encouragement for my Dakar deal with Volkswagen.

Ryan and I are working hard on a long term Baja program and in the middle of that we have a new website that I hope everyone likes. I did a rally in Portugal last week as my first official race with VW. I used that as a test for the site and that is how we will do the updates for Dakar so check it out. you have to get to the events section.

The test program with VW has been amazing, the new car( which I didn't race in Portugal) that I tested for the last 2 weeks in Morocco is 95% new and REALLY a huge step. So needless to say Dirk and I are really looking forward to Dakar. (A ps to Portugal is we had massive rain and the car had some issues but the objective for us was to enjoy the rally and to get to know the team in a race situation. )

Ryan and I are going to do everything we can to keep the site fresh and to have some serious program news for you in the near term.

This year they are inverting the slower cars to front after each stage. Right?

Should also be nicer with the fuel stops closer?

Was Jutta driving the new T-2?

yes Jutta was in a R-2. As for inversion I am not sure if that will apply. At some point it was an option of the winner if he wanted to invert. I will find out and let you know. I do know it was not an option at Portugal, if it was Carlos would have inverted after the prologue due to the rain and not wanting to open the course.
