I know most of you know about the DIRTsports - FABTECH - UPRacing.com - Desert Rat contingency program, but I though I would get out again to try to get as many racers involved as possible. We're trying to get the stickers mailed to you before the 1000 to avoid the contingency hussel. The more involvement we get, the easier the deal will be to sell to sponsors next year to add to payout. We doubled it this year with Fabtech getting on board, and I bet we can double it again next year. Most classes have a chance to finish in the money because of the way the program is structured, so sign up!
We'll be at registration and contingency for the stragglers, but it WILL cost you a couple of Tecate's.

Here’s how it works-
You will be scored as you physically cross the finish line, so your race finishing position can be different than the contingency finishing position. If a vehicle isn’t registered, the money will roll to the next eligible finisher. For example, if the 1st overall does not qualify, the next finisher that does qualify will get the money. The money will be paid back beyond 30th position if there are not enough qualified finishers to exhaust the funds.
To qualify-
The vehicle must have 2 Dirtsports Magazine, 2 Fabtech Motorsports and 2 UPR or Desert Rat Truck Centers and decals visible on the side of the vehicle when the race starts. The vehicle must finish with at least one of the required decals visible. The winners will be identified by UPR, DIRTsports and Fabtech staff and presented a mock check at the finish line where publicity photos will be taken. The prize money will be distributed in cash or check at the awards banquet following the race.
The class winners will be reviewed in DIRTsports Magazine in the upcoming Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 issue.
