They (MDR) changed it to a day race. the Superstition 250 has always been a NIGHT RACE! It has always started at around 4 or 5 and raced into the night. It was always funnest race to be at other than the DASH on new years. There is a AMA Gran Prix the same day in Holtville. Its Dirt Bikes and quads only but its should be cool. The start/finish line and the pits is at the park in the middle of town. 2 miles of asphalt 8 mile of dirt 10 times around the loop. With a water crossing. Should be fun. I was gonna race in the morning and go to the night race but NOOOOOOOO! MDR had to change the only night race to a morning race. HOW DUMB! They say it is because they had a new race in June and it was a night race. OH WELL

The wife and I arrived about 15 minutes before the start time of 8 a.m., due to circumstances beyond my control. The weather was great but wished the wind would have been blowing to the west a little more. We came down to pit for the Race Ready entry, number 1040. McCallum in the unlimited class was "ON IT" all day. Congrats to him !! The Race Ready car had some sputtering problems, but other than that, it was a good day.
We heard an early report off the start line that the McNeil entry endowed.
Also, congrats to Kenny Stroud on his race. I think he got second overall !!
That's all for now

Yes he was, I was sitting oppisote their pits for a time listening to radio traffic about how loose the car was. They thought that something had broke, if that was loose I'll take it :)
The GIANT white ford ranger looked pretty hooked too. I think it was 1469 but not sure.
I pull up just after the start, (left glamis a little late) infact right by the S/F line. I am watching the cars run that last stretch just before the left turn into the maxis flags. It gave a nice view of suspension working and the last few woops were tough on the 9 cars. I am 25-30' south away from the flags and here comes a nine car (did not get his number) FT into the last little section. Good air big bounce but now he is pointing straight at ME. I do the ZOO road shuffle not wanting to spill my soda. I then realize that he is going where I am running. I pause briefly to watch his wheels turn back to the course and then continue on OUT OF THE WAY. I felt like those kids in dust to glory when Andy was getting back on course. Thank gawd it was only class nine, I am too slow for anything else.

Awesome day out there. We placed 2nd class 3 (Giti Gowland) and the Nissley team we pitted with came in first place in class 3. Good job out there to everyone. Awesome weather and the Sushi on Friday in our pit was awesome. Who says you can not have sushi in the desert!

Congratulations to Joe Jake and Travis, Laff Racing 1604 for the 1st in 1600 and 3rd over all, next time we want a speech. Also to Nick Tiedemann for getting 2nd with no power steering. If you know what the back side of the Supersitions are like then you know that is a accomplishment.

Never could understand why so many guys run a day race with their light bar on the roof. Besides aero drag it can add to the repair bill when things go wrong.
