What did you guys do to him in pre-run??? He blew an engine after only 11 practice laps and 1 and 1/2 qualifying laps............
Please tell me he's using his own engine program for the McGordon effort in 2006 and not using Menards?

as larry mac said on tv, they are in a deep hole right now. tough way to be closing out a season. makes for a long winter.
hate to see him run so poorly. you have to be good off the truck these days.

Thank God he got that TOYO contract because he isn't making any money at the circle tracks right now...

Yes, he actually qualed for Martinsvile but didn't last long...............hasn't run a race since Charlotte........
Before we vote Robby to the presidency, let's vote him back to full-time off road and IRL, first.

A "Rumor" site Jayski.com has an article that the heading is "Jim Beam Rebate?". The article basically said "Hearing that Jim Beam is looking for a rebate check from Robby for DNF ing 13 races".. Ha Ha

Yeah, RGRB, saw that too..........trying my damnest to keep it out of circulation. Pistol Pete, quick with the draw and slow with the facts, especially on how to spell Robby's name correctly. Now you guys know why I want out of Nascar.........as far as Jim Beam, they'll thow euros at the very first solo Dakar effort but want a rebate in Cup........?

He sucks so bad. I have no idea how he has stayed in the Nascar game for so long.

Because people always want to see a down to earth guy speak his mind. Don't you get tired of hearing those rednecks talk on TV? Have you seen the stands back east. Takes 10 people together to get a full set of teeth. If you didn't have people in NASCAR like Robby it would be so boring to watch. Who wants to watch a bunch of guys turn LEFT all day long with no action? Thats almost as bad as watching drag racing that last 4 seconds.
Take out
Robby Gordon
Jimmy Spencer
Tony Stewart (When he's out of control)
Kevin Harvick
Kurt Busch
= not fun to watch
Imagine watching 43 drivers like Kyle Petty, Terry Labonte, Bobby Labonte. WOW that would really suck.

as much of a rg fan that i am i to am surprised he is still is able to pay for a team....being a driver is one thing but owning a team is a lot more and he has not "finished" well all season. I think he only won two races before owning a team in nascar.
as of now the only time robby gets on camera is at watkins glen or infineon and when he crashes
i would watch those stereotypes if i were you
Bohr7
November 8th, 2005, 06:48
Nah, remember New Hampshire? :p
Plus, with Robby's versatility, he gets exposure when all the other "circle" drivers are either tanning or snow skiing...................
( he won 3 prior to this solo stint and one in Busch as an owner last year in Richmond)

Menard will be back for 06. He just wants to have a sure thing for the final two races. Menard is just selling the England Facility to the Japs. Not the Indy shop (where they put the motors together)
Don't count Menard out. They will have more time to work out the kinks rather than have motors ready to run for the next week.

I hope you are right. I am not a betting man but in Vegas here if there was a betting line for Robby to have any kind of engine trouble I would bet my house on it.

Don't have any substantiation on the DEI engine. Here's the deal: One of the guys was at his souvenir hauler, the hauler employee stated that Robby was going to have switch to DEI for Phoenix, Jayski picked up the comment on his site, everyone is buying it as fact. If Andy's around the board tonight, get him to ask a reliable source.
True dat for flyhiflylo.........Menards sold the England based F1 factory to Honda. Period. Didn't have anything to do with the Indianapolis shop of Robby's engines. And really, as far as engines go, you guys know better than stock drivers, it's not always just the engine that's bad........the installation is just as important. Anyone here up to applying to RGMS for shop crew? :D

Robby is switching to DEI the last two races. (Enough substantiation?) RG's cars handle great sometimes and sometimes they don't. But The motor deal needs to take a break til next year. Right Kim/ punk...? LOL Look at those plugs! what does B o h r stand for?

Funny thing about those motors, at first they were too strong and kept blowing, not they're not strong enough.
Another thing is they really need to update us fans on their website as to what's going on so we don't start rumors.
Didn't Paul Menard sign a deal with a non Menard motor using team? I'm pretty sure I read that somwhere and if I come across it again I'll post it.
Personally I think Robby will be ready for Daytona and qualify well.

Yes Paul did sign with DEI through 2007 and yes Menard will sponsor 7 cup races next year with him. However RG is also signed with Menards too for next year. Your statement about Daytona. Yes RG will have his program a notch above by then. RG is not even going to be around RGM til next year.

When it was mentioned or rumored that Robby would be using a DEI motor (not sure if it's still a rumor or a fact now) for the last 2 races, I thought of Paul Menard right away, it just didn't click in my head that DEI was who Paul signed with.
I live with 3 Nascar junkies, one of them left yesterday to get an RV spot in Phoenix and it's getting old watching NASCAR on Sundays/Sat Nights and me being the only one who's driver is not racing or having bad finishes, whether it's a motor issue or someone running into Robby, you gotta admit, it's just not his year.
I do look forward to '06 though and hopefully a top 15 year for Robby

Hey, Banned, I was referring to Pete Pistone, the guy that wrote that "Robbie was required to give Jim Beam a rebate...." Pistol Pete, fast on the rumor slow on the facts, not you. I noticed after I posted it that you are referred to that as well.............sorry about the confusion.

Bajafox, here's our validation on the rumor:
UPDATE: Robby Gordon, after failing to qualify at Texas, Atlanta and Kansas City, and blowing engines at Dover, Charlotte and Martinsville, is rethinking his whole operation. He's bringing in a new engineer to help crew chief Greg Erwin and a new team manager to help John Story. And Gordon will have new engines here and at Homestead, from the Dale Earnhardt Inc. shop. "John Menard (who currently provides Gordon's engines) decided it would be better this way," Gordon said. "And we'll sit down at the end of the season and evaluate. Winston Salem Journal 11-11-2005.

Well I could have told you that RGM was dynoing a DEI powered car on Tues at RGM. But I guess you need to here from RG himself 4 days later. Glad you are comfortable now. KAK?

I'll be checking in on the SPEED channel to see where RG qualifies tomorrow...

they haven't qualified yet, they do later today. practice can be misleading, be careful. teams can be working on race runs, while others can be working on qualif. speed just to get in the race. hopefully RG is running better with some more reliable & better hp this week. i've wondered why it's taken so long for john menard to do something like this. it's a good op for dei to get some race test miles on any r&d packages they are working on for next year.
