My dad was at the night race and saw a truck with rectangular light panels. Does anybody know about this? Are they some type of new LED system.

They're a prototype light, #1 and #2 made. They're and LED that is super white. They were on Craig Reynolds truck. Pretty trick. Solidly built for off road. He is planning on testing them and possibly producing them later on.
I could get the info if you want. PM if interested.

I don't have all the details but I do know who had them and who made them. They were on truck 1456 Craig Reynolds and they are made by Holder Offroad Lighting. They are an LED Light Bar. I don't his contact info but his stickers were plastered all over the truck. Look up some pictures of that truck and get the number

those things looks awesome on the truck. he came through main with them off after he finished? wonder if he killed them because the race was ending, or if there was trouble with them....
we were also wondering how effective they were, and if the light bothered the drivers eyes at all

Hello everyone,
My name is Dave Holder of Holder Offroad, we are the manufacturers of the LED offroad lights that made their debut at the MDR Camburg 200 last weekend. Thank you to everyone who posted pictures and asked questions and to everyone who was out at the race asking questions as well. To set the record straight... Last weekend was our first trial run and the first time they had ever been mounted on a vehicle. We literally got the final pieces in on tuesday last week. Finished the build and mock-mounting that night. Final welding was done the day after. Wired up friday before we hit the dirt and tested friday night. Considering the only problem we had was a little bit of hood glare, ok... a lot of hood glare which was due to limited fab time for mounting, I'd say it was a successful weekend. We'll be back out at the next MDR race for some more testing of the newest product that will be much brighter than the #1 and #2 prototypes we had out there last weekend. I'll also have some pictures up soon. Check for updates and upcoming events on our website. www.holderoffroad.com. Its still under construction but we'll be wrapping it up here in the next few weeks.
Thank you, and if anyone has questions, please feel free to email or call, or message in this thread.
Sincerely,
Dave Holder

This setup looks tiptop you have to remember though to get the glare from off the hood. Maybe by putting a 2-3 plate on the bottom of the rack or a black hood. Hood glare can be quite bothersome fyi. Another question what is the amp draw how much juice do they pull?

Yea, we had way too much hood glare. We knew there would be some, didnt know how much, but we didnt have any time to do anything about it. In the future for this truck, they will be mounted on the roof. The plate underneath is a good idea though. As far as amp draw, we aren't quite sure yet what they WILL be, but, the 50 inch bar with what we had was about 110-120 watts which is about 9 to 10 amps, and the 30 was about 70-75, about 6 amps. We're getting new product this week which will be more efficient electronically and we will be doing final testing on those units. I will definately post all of the tech info on the website as well as this thread.
