My truck currently has a fabricated spindle with the stock snout. I am looking for an upgraded hub an a 2.5'" snout. Is Pro-Am the only option I have? This is for an 01 F-150 with a 5 on 5.5 lug pattern. Would I be better of with a weld on or bolt on snout. I would post a pic but I cant get it to upload.

Just to let you know, a 2001 F150 DOES NOT have 5 x 5.5, it is actually 5 x 135mm.

Here's a breakdown of all the parts you would need from us:
Proam Uprights (Available in 10, 12, 14 degree inclination, depends on tire size/wheel offset)
http://proamracing.com/images/prm-10dfulkit.jpg
About $1400 for the pair (You weld them and make your steering arms)
Proam 2.0" Bolt-on Hollow snouts (You DO NOT need 2.5" snouts, these are the same snouts most Class 1 cars use)
http://proamracing.com/images/prm-2inbhsrhdkit.jpg
About $500 for the pair
Proam 5 on 5.5" Hub Kit with 13.5" rotors (Will work with 17" wheels, 12" rotor for 15" wheel)
http://proamracing.com/images/prm-655500.jpg
About $1700 for the kit
Plus Wilwood calipers - $700/pair
& hardware - $175
Grand total for these parts comes to around $4500 less uniballs, cups, hi-mis spacers

Could I tapp the upright and run a Dana 44 snout minus the backing plate. Would this be strong enough?

I would through bolt it. If you have a nice bore for a light press fit where the spindle registers on the upright you will be OK.

FYI
We have an upright that will accept the dana 44 snout.

Do you have a weld in or press in snout that will accept dana 44 hubs? I am trying to keep my existing upright. I had a machinist look at the upright I have and he said that there is not enough surface are to mount a bolt on snout.

I just pulled apart an F-150 with spindles like you have described and the customer had them modified. The spindle now uses a Tube Works snout and hub assy (same as the rear) and 14" brakes. It was a really nice set-up, I just didn't like the extra scrub-radius that the hubs provided...small price I guess.

CNC also makes some nice hubs that are more affordable and can be used with either stock TTB F150 snouts or with their machined snouts. They are not as strong as pro-ams or DS but not the price either.
