I have a 2001 F150 and am looking to get new wheels. The stock offset is 0, and the wheels I am interested in have an offset of -4mm. I am also going from a 16x7 to a 17x8. I know this means that the wheel will stick out 4mm more (plus the wider rim), but it is only 4mm, right? To me, 4mm does not seem like much of a difference, but does anyone have any other opinion?

If you're sure your stock wheel is a 0 off-set, and you're sure the new wheel is a -4 and an inch wider, the wheel will stick out 17mm more than what you have now.

It sounds like you have it figured out, but here'a thread on wheel off-set and back- space.
