Okay, so I have always had BFG's. For my daily driver I wanted to get some 255/85 tires. BFG all terrains dont come in that size, only mud terrains.
SO, I want to know about the quality of cooper tires. They make an all terrain that looks like the bfg's, but I wanted to hear some exampls of their quality. This daily driver sees offroad almost every weekend, but mostly easy stuff, its just that there are some damn sharp rocks out here in AZ and I don't want to get a crappy tire and I don't want to pay BFG to make me 5 one off tires!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but Cooper makes the Procomp Tires. I'm sure they would be fine for a daily driver, but I've always felt the Cooper/Procomp tires are inferior to BFG.

Me too, but I wanted to see if anyone had some specific experiences with them.
Also, cooper makes the Mickey Thompson line and they work well on our 1600 car so.....

I don't know about in a true off road situation....BUT my old man swears by them. We've always had them on our welding trucks, and they seem to last a long time.

We sell Coopers in our tire and Desert Rat stores, and have great luck with them.
I don't know that they would be better than BFG TA KO's for durability in the desert though.
I can rip off whatever I want, and I have them on my ol' ladies Suburban if that tells you anything.

cool, thanks for the info hardcharger and Jeff. They will see a lot of aired down time cruising around AZ with my girl looking for ghost towns, or maybe slowly pre-running a couple of courses.
(why cant BFG just make an AT in that size!)

One of our guys on the team runs a cooper AT on his truck.... been an awesome tire with no problems.... for the price I would recommend them

When you say on his truck, do you mean race truck, prerunner, street truck.
In other words I want to hear from someone who has taken them offroad to make sure their sidewalls dont get cut as easily as say Big O tire brand tires?

I'm bringing this back from the dead forums, because I've been using coopers ATR line in my dodge ram 4x4 quadcab in 315-85-17 size with great results so far (3 months). I do about 200 miles a week of off roading down here in baja, so the tires see mud, rocks, silt, sand, you name it, no flats as of yet. The thread design is great on and off road, kinda reminds me of the baja t/a projects.
I might use them on my racer, not a high horsepower stock full truck, if i can get a free set from cooper....
