cant decide what is a good motor tranny combo to run.
has to be cast iron v8
thankful for any help

I doesnt HAVE to be cast iron v8. Could be I6 cast iron and 5sp.
I would guess most go with 351W block and C6. If you like big blocks and want monster inches and power 460block and C6. Nothing else worth considering unless you have tons of parts around. Maybe you can buy a modular motor from Simons old trophy truck program if you like complicated stuff.

I thought the only team running the modular engines was Ashley/Smith with the Duralast truck.

Yes I think you may be right. I confused my facts on the modular motor but they are probably worthless in this situation anyway.

Start with a Windser block & alum heads, go big with the C.I. if you can afford it and run a c6.

nothing smaller than a 351. A 460 is most popular for H.P. and long life. C-6 trans and have Steve Culhane bulletproof it.

They are done with that program. I hear they are going with a 1350hp drag race big block?!
