What size wheels and tires are you guys running on your 516's? Are 15x4 all around a good set up?

Patricio, We run 15x7, 31x10.5x15 BFG All Terrain's in the REAR.
15x4, 700x15 BFG Hiway Kings and or same size in the Tractor tread (depending on the race and terrain). Some teams use 33' tires (BFG, Mickey Thompson, Yokohama, Toyo) in the rear, it all depends what kind of set up, tire you designed your car for. Some teams use 15x6 in the rear, We use 15x7 for stability because Baja's jump and pull sideways in the rear (you'll see !!!!). Some teams use 16in rims in front for clearance, like when you're in a wash and it's all carved out your skidplate or floorpan will plow in the sand therefore, slow you down.

Thanks for the info! "(You'll see!!!!)" Ja Ja Ja Ja Ja Ja, cant wait!!!! So your suggestion is to run a wider wheel in the back to try to keep the rear going straight. Makes sense. Do you have any experience with BTR wheels?
I bought a set of BTR wheels (15x4) with yokos (700-15) and nobody was able to mount them I am still trying to figure out what I will do, have you ever had these type of problems? Thanks.

Wider to keep them going straight (it helps).
No experience with BTR's, but i hear that they're really light and really strong (dont bend as easily) so then you will not have to straighten them as often after you hit something hard and bend them (seems like every race we straighten two or three, $$$$$$$$$).
Are you also running Yoko's (super diggers) in the rear? They're great in the Sand, because of the round edges.

We run BFG At's in the back and BFG Traxion in the front with a Bfg Traxion spare. Sizes= 31.0x10.5 rear, 31.0x7 in front all on fifteen in. rims. We run 10.5 in the back because they seem to track better in the wash and when the soft stuff gets realy mushy I pull to the side and let the corner of the tires dig into the harder packed sand. Now some will argue all day long about size and shape of tire but what it boils done too is personal preferance. We used to run yokies (never again) had MT's once they didin't last. Got picked up by BFG and have never looked back. On to the rims, we have centerlines and BTRs and from what I last heard at the race shop in carona is that Centerline doubled its price. Now your talking about $350 for a beadlocked rim compared to a $215 beadlocked BTR? you do tha math. Get out there and test the car to figure what works best. Ya it sucks to try and figure out what tire works best for you on a starting racers budget but remember this, the rest of us had to go through the same thing and if you start asking questions at the races you'll start to figure out what I said earlier.

33inch yokohama super digger 3's on this car. since they are rounded they sit nice in the ruts you find in the wash's for the most amount of traction, unlike the BFG's that are a pretty strait cut, which is why a lot of people have the front's shaved down to help out.

That is the tire I am planning on running on the back. I am planning to run 15x4 BTR all the way around, what wheels do you run?
Thank You
