I was wondering if you had any suggestions for the best spots to Watch the race (Mil) around SF / PUERTECITOS area??

We are planning on going south towards Puertecitos (Maybe CP# 3) , but want to know if there are any other good spots to watch them go by (I found an an access road near the SF airport that leads directly to the big 90° curve on the race course before the long straight away & this looks like a good spot but am not sure.:( ..

Thanks

That's it, I agree with you, that road near the SF airport will take you to a great spot.

Thanks & good luck to all & remember be safe... :)

We are getting to SF Late Wednesday / Early Thursday & campout out the night in SF:D . Wake up early (Before 7:00 AM) to avoid all the traffic & drive south to wait for all the action...(Towards Puertecitos / Near the SF airport )

How about you??

are you staying at a campground in SF? We'll be camping in that area somewhere. There'll probably be lots of dirt and bushes around us.

A few weeks ago I did Petes Poker run and pre ran the section from the point that they get off at Zoo road and head south to the dump. Ran it from there to the point that it turns right onto Puertecitos road and heads south on the straightaway, the spot I'm watching them is about 1/2 a mile before they hang a right at Puerticitos Rd. Some good sandy woops.

Yeah Right there at the four way with Puertocitos Road (RM 185) should be a good spot. We will be setting up a MAG-7 pit in that area. We have a ton of vehicles signed up for service. Should be action packed!

We are definitely watching the race from this spot then (Near SF airport / RM 185), We'll be getting there early Thursday or maybe even Camp out the night (Wendsday) as it is not that far from SF... We plan on leaving Mexicali around 8-9 PM:cool: ...

To the guys camping out are you camping near the course or is there a camp site that you guys are staying at? Me and a friend are going to be going down now (I just got the days off) and will proply be going down that way as well. If you just camp near the course are fires allowed? Thanks in advance.

Dude it's Mexico, there will be little fires everywhere when it gets cold. Just find a safe place, pull off the road, get ready for fun! Most importantly don't do anything stupid. (avoiding alcohol helps out with this one) Be smart and have fun....Oh yeah, it's gonna be COLD at night, prepare for it!

I wanted to be ready for the cold that is why I asked about the Fire. Every time I been down there I have camped at El Faro beach. And the last time I went down for a race was in 2003. I don't care for alcohol eather just lots of monsters so I will be good on that.

It'll definitely get cold @ night. (40-50°)..Don't forget to PUT OUT the fire in the morning before leaving your camp site to watch the race...

Buy a insect repelent and do a perimeter with it around the camp zone, there are a lot of ¨alimaņas¨ in the desert (scorpions, big spiders, matavenados, snakes, etc) :)

PD. And very important I think, keep your area clean (get trash bags)
