I am drawing a blank right now but how do you get a water pump or a thermo stat cover with an AN fitting on it? I like the Idea of using AN fittings vs using a standard hose clamp but I have never seen anything offered with the fitting other then the upper radiator hose out let on the radiator.

C&R has thermostat housings with AN fittings.

does anyone run them on the lower hose as well?

Brian, I looked on the C&R website but didnt find the link to the thermostat housings.

Weld a male AN fitting to the radiator inlet and outlet, and to the thermostat housing and water pump. It is that easy, done all the time... but large AN fittings are very pricey.

Thanks for the information

Take a look at just about all high-end cooling systems and you'll see that a non-externally braided hose is used. Radiators and coolers are very sensitive to vibration. If the AN hose is relatively straight to the radiator, engine vibration will eventually deteriorate the delicate fins inside the radiator. The longer, and more curves used, the longer the radiator will last. If you are looking for a clean way to route a coolant hose, use 1.5" O.D. (or 1.75") 304 Stainless, to fabricate hard lines that run between the engine and radiator. Be sure to leave ~ 6" of (preferably bent) hose on each end to attach to engine and radiator.

What fins inside the radiator?

What size is everyone using for the radiator fittings?

This is also something I'm kind of curious about. I have heard of -16 hose being used on sandrails. Seems kinda small, but if it works then that would be great because of how $$$ the larger fittings are. This would be for a 5.0L V8 in a ranger.

Bringing back an old thread... what size AN fittings are people using on the ecotecs?
Is -20 the size people are using?
Thanks, Kelly

The CBR radiators which are the standard are -16

I run -20 on the TT. Never had a problem. Expensive yes. Necessary... not really. Nice piece of mind that the hose ain't going to blow off...yes.

Thanks guys! anyone else? I just wanted to make sure we would have enough flow with the smaller inside diameter of the AN fitting and hose. Sounds like we should have no problems

-16 will be fine. -20 line and fittings are extremely expensive.

Thanks again for the help. I see the huge price difference when you go to -20. I'm glad -16 will work, saves us a lot of money on hose and fittings
