For a 1600 car:

Are any of you running anything special to seal your tires with your BTR rims? I think I read somewhere Hardesty was running tire slime in his. Is it necessary? Will a regular Superdigger tire do fine on a BTR beadlock rim?

Also, anyone running the non-beadlock rims? What have your experiences been?

we run Centerlines on with Yoks on our 1600, we have never used beed lock rims and have never had a problem, we run them with an inner tube...

I prefer to use a product called Flat Shield. Its sold thru most better equiped motorcycle shops. Its easily twice as effective at stopping leaks than slime which does work well. It does not freeze and does not seem to dry out which sometimes seems to happen to slime.

We run the BTR beadlocks on our 12 car with the superdiggers and they work great!

Thanks for the replies.

What about anyone using the non-beadlocked rims?

Thanks,

And the Yoks w/ centerlines, that's a no-brainer.

I'm wondering about switching to the BTR non-beadlocks. Obviously you wouldn't run a tube in them and so that begs the question, is the beadlock necessary or no?

For a bead lock wheel Ive always put a small bead of silcone between both beads and tighted while still wet. I think it help lube the tire a little and will seal any small leaks due to machining or tire defects.

Thanks,

Depends on the car. 1600 car Non-Beadlocked. 12 or 10 car Beadlocked because of the added weight of the car and the faster top speed
