Greetings to all! for me off road has been a way of life, teaching me to succeed...
Started Dist37 desert racing in 1968, rode for Team Harley on a Baja 100 in 1972 and did my 1st Baja 1000 , in 1973 brought the 1st Honda Elsinore to Dist 37 Desert Racing
1974 Recived a Team Honda sponsorship. In the early days I was a member of the 4Aces motorcycle club, the Chargers, the Victors, then The Checkers MC, I was one of the 14 that helped form the Checkers Off Road. At the end of the 70's with My brothers Alan and Darryl we started racing a baja bug with great results. I'm now living in Durango Colorado with miles and miles of off road to explore, but I still find myself in Baja, this year in Loreto running into people I havent seen in 30yrs go figure,There is so much to share I should write a book. more upon request.

You should write a book.
The Cook Bros have great stories, just not sure what the rating would be. :)

Wayne, good to have you here on RDC! You and your brothers were always the team to try and beat. Some of my favorite races were racing against you in 5-1600 when I was racing with John Holmes. If all that "wheelin'" and rock crawling gets too boring we would love to see you back in the desert going fast. At the very least you should have a family reunion race at this year's 40th aniversary running of the Baja 1000.

Good to here from you guys, after all the hard work with your brothers, Alan doing all the tubework welding and painting Darryl all the R&R and magnafluxing and me building the engines and PR and having been able to win at least one of all the different races SCORE and HDRA we all got burnt out and wanted to go fishing and gold mining.
However!! We have all the old Race vehicles in mothballs. The Valvoline desert car
The Valvoline short course car, 1973 Factory Honda Elisinore I won the Parker 400 overall on in 74 and 3rd overall 1st 250 in 75 and 100 old bikes and cars at Alan and Darryls Race camp in palmdale. I'm up in Durango the most beautiful place.
