Hey guys,
Do you know who makes a set of shorty headers that will fit a 351W engine in a 1986 Ford Bronco. This is definitely not the original engine since it's carberated and looks like it came out of a late 70s Ford truck. Not worried about smogging this vehicle so no need for a set of headers with a smog fitting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a set from a 1995? or newer bronco or f-150 with a 351w.
They came from the factory with stainless steel shorty headers. They do have some additional pollution control hadware on them but it is easy to remove.

First on the 86 Bronco they were carberated, the 302 had the first fuel injected setup. JBA makes headers for them, I have had them on my Bronco for 5 years without any problems and they gave my motor a little more kick. They are smog legal even if you do not need it. The only difference is that they have a O2 sensor bung welded in place.

Had two different sets of JBA headers break at the header flange, each after just a few months of use. Switched to Gibson about 5 years ago and they just recently cracked apart at the collector. Happy with 5 years of prerunning use so bought another set of Gibsons.

Hey Chris didn't your Bronco exhaust fall off after prerunning the 1000 last year.
All I know is my set have been good for the past 5 years, but Chris is harder on his Bronco. So I will have to yeild to his take on headers. If I brake mine this year racing I will probably go with the Gibsons, we will see.
I still wish I could buy your F150, Did you put the new Interior carpeting in yet?

The exhaust flange bolts all fell out after I had a muffler shop work on it - they reshaped the y-pipe because the replacement Gibson headers lined up a little different. I replaced the bolts with better hardware and stover nuts and all good now. Nothing to do with Gibson. Everything to do with me not checking the bolts after the muffler shop worked on it. You know you just can't find good help anymore!
And my F150 still needs the upholstry done.

I have a set of the equal length Bassani headers on my 94 F150 4x4 and they seem like they will hold up very very well.

Ha, ypu think the JBA's are crap, you should take a peek at the Edelbrocks. They crack if you look at them funny.
BTW, if you have enough suspension, you won't break headers anymore.:D

Can you change spark plugs without removing the headers?

Yes, they're not nearly as tight as they look in those pics. They actually made some of the plugs easier to get to, but the passenger side rear plug is a b!tch.
