I have 94 150 with a 5.0 and aode trans. Its ext cab and a 4x4, i want to turn it into a pre-runner but its time for an new engine. So i'm open to suggestions. Rebuild the 5.0? Time for a 351? or go bigger? Turbo? anything will hellp and make it a little easier to figure out what i'm gonna put in it.

I had a 95 f150. It was a prerunner and ran a 351. The motor was stock and it was a champ. When I sold the truck it had 198,000+ original miles on it and was still very strong. The guy I sold it to preran the Vegas to Reno race in it with the A/C on and hammered it pretty good, passing six figure trucks all day. To this day he uses the truck as a dedicated prerunner and an occasional treat for the kids when he picks them up at school with it. I have never been more impressed by a motor.

Also, the 5.0 is a very rebuildable motor and tons of aftermarket parts and upgrades to beef it up, if one was so inclined!

I would stick with the 5.0 and just have one rebuilt, that's what i did on mine. The nice thing about the original motor is it will still pass smog, the 5.0 is way more common then the 351, that went in everything. If you got the 5.0 and needed parts for it in mexico you could go to any junkyard or autoparts store, they had 5.0's in everything, Mustangs T-birds, F150 Exploders, E-vans. 5.0's stuff are the easiest parts to find.

Just what ever you do, make sure that you invest in a good timing chain set because some of the stock ford ones are not that strong esp the ones that used nylon on the sprockets.
