Tranny Specs On A 1988 Bronco

HERE'S THE DEAL I NEED A C6 TRANNY, A FRIEND WORKS ON A WRECKING YARD THERE'S A 1988 BRONCO I CAN GET THE TRANNY FOR PENNIES :eek: BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF TRANNY COMES WITH IT :confused: SO I GOT THE VIN # HE IS ALSO GIVING ME THE SERIAL NUMBERS FROM THE TRANNY PAN??? & MAYBE WITH THAT, ONE OF YOU WIZARDS CAN GIVE A HAND DECODING THAT THING :confused: I DON'T KNOW A THING ABOUT TRANSMISSIONS HELP PLEASE
IF IT'S A C6 I'LL BE GETTING EVERYTHING TRANSFER,TRANNY,DRIVELINE,ETC.:D :D

nobody is yelling, and that's why i'm asking this because i don't know
if it's 3 speed or what, maybe you know something i don't.
I need a to be sure this is a c6 before I purchase this thing.

Instead of getting the VIN and serial numbers, can you have your friend check if it's a 3 speed? He can check the gear indicator for an overdrive symbol or if it happens to be gone, have him count the number of detents at the shifter or shift lever on the transmission.

If all that fails, a dealership parts department should be able to tell you what trans it has if you give them the VIN.
