I just built some bumpers from 1.5" .120wall tubing and need a source for plastic caps to cover the ends?
I plan on siliconing them in to keep water out but cant find any. I know they make them since Fabtech, etc plugs them into the ends of their bumpers.
Someone advised me welding steel freeze plugs into the ends but Ive painted them already and dont want to weld on them anymore.
PS if theres a source in SD area that would be great.
Thanks,
Doug

just cut some little circles out of sheet metal and mig them on then grind and paint. Sounds easier to me then driving all over to find some fabtech looking cap. I just did this on my bumper and it only took a little while and it doesn't even matter how good the circles are cut.

The plastic ones are crappy because, people tend to lean on the bumper and they usually knock those things off and you know your not gonna run out and buy some new ones right away.

The plastic caps are great because you can store your favorite pharmacutical inside the tube. They neve look there.I read that somewhere

Here Protrux is selling them for $8 a pair. They only are made for 1 1/2 .120 wall tubing. They are billet alum. and are a couple thousands over 1.25" O.D. so they tap in and stick with a rubber mallet. Their number is 760-761-0170.

those billet ones are kinda trick looking!!!
I do like the billet alum ones.. As soon as Protrux has some for 1.750x0.120 then I think I might just have to get me a pair.

Id just rather get the plastic, silicone them in and they''ll never come out. Plus they dont look all schmegma'ed out like the aluminum ones.
thanks
Yeah and I bet that aluminum skid plate looks schmegma'ed too.. LOL .. You do know you can paint aluminum to match the bumper. But have fun paying 4 or 5 bucks or maybe more for some little peices of plastic. And will they be the same color as your bumper??? I think not....
Doug I am just givin you s@*t. Dude it is your ride so do what ever you want.

I'll admit, the caps are kinda disco but better than rusty holes or gizzed on pieces of plactic. If I had a bumper I would put them on my piece of shyt.
