i was just wondering what everyone thought of it? is it the same as hoveys? what engine? it was interesting cuz he was the only one i remember pulling the front wheels off the ground in first and second gear. also thought it was interesting that two of the fastest guys in class one (herder and one of the lvdc cars) both let off big time at the jump. in the end looks like a very smart move

I think the new Jimco's look really nice and handle great. Granted they have had awesome drivers behind the wheel too. Herders car is a two seat and Hovey's is a single seat. Probably the same baisc layout though..

I thought Herders new car was bitchin! Our lvdc car (BJ) was lifting at the jump because the car was landing too hard. Pat's was landing fine....but that's another story. We figured out on time, we lost 6 sec. per lap by lifting at the jump. We even put more rebound in for Sunday but that wasnt enough.

i guess it was worth it to lift cuz two of the top guys were doing it. it just looks so easy the way some of these cars land but i guess it can take a toll on parts. how many hp does herders new car have?

I believe you are wrong. The orange Banks Ford TT is that of Wayne Lugo. I believe the old HErder Truggy is now one of the Jesse Jones TT's.

John's old Truggy was redone at Newline and converted to a TT. He raced it a couple of times then sold it to Bruce Friedman at Tatum Motorsports. Bruce then sold it to Jesse Jones. The last I saw was Jesse was trying to sell it on RDC...but not sure if it was sold.

Oh I love the fact that John went back to his old Arizona flag paint job.

Never saw the car up close but it was haulin through the coarse.
As far as letting of at the leap, I saw a few cars not happy with the landing at speed on the leap. I think since the leap was more of a drop out then a launch ramp a bunch of cars were landing flat on all fours and don't like doing that. Pretty sure the energy of the landing is better dispursed one corner at a time or 2 corners at most.

I'm no engineer but I think I am "almost" right about a flat landing. Any smart guys out there that can explain?

Was this the newest chassis from Jimco? From what I have been told the newest version has had many changes like longer rear arms, new front geometry, longer wheelbase and a larger driver compartment. Whats the scoop?

I beleive these new cars have the frame taperd so when diving into a corner the outter most lower tubes are higher and dont scrape. Also these cars driver co-driver are sitting on the fuel cell, i guess get the most weigh as low as you can. Ovbiously the looks have changed also. Other than that i dont know any more just what i saw at the Jimco grand opening.

Hovey is running a V8 from Danzio Performance now, isn't he?

It is the same JIMCO chassis that PFANKUCH Motorsports debuted at Laughlin. Adam had a fantastic first Class 1 race finishing in 4th on Saturday and running up front on Sunday until a bad clutch sidelined him.

Herder's is the new chassis. The fuel cell/driver compartment is tailored to fit each individual's needs or wants. Both Herder and Hovey are running chevy based v-8's, but from different engine builders.

absolutely correct. jesse still has it i believe. and i agree, glad he went back to the AZ flag paint scheme. his new car is not the same as Hovey's, just so everyone knows. Chuck has a custom Jimco chassis that's wider than a single seater, but not as big as the 2 seaters. they are both awesome cars. all the new jimcos are amazing. i think there are 4 or 5 of the new ones running now, Weyrich, Herder, Pfankuch, Josh Baldwin and Peterson. the Wilson's new Jimco is very nice as well

Dont forget to add Josh Baldwin's new car to that list as well, he ran very good for his first time out. Did well in the leap too.

Pretty sure not too much is new-chassis wise. New body/dash and possibly new longer rear arms and new style fronts.
