Anyone know who is driving it this year? I'm sure RG will get in it at the road courses and some others but all season?

I do not know about the entire season, but Brandon Miller is the listed driver for the #55 RGM Motorola Ford in the Orbits 300 (Daytona) on Saturday. And if I remember correctly, he is also an RCR pilot as well for atleast part of the season. But I just checked the FOX Sports entry list just now and it has RG listed as driver. Not that I do not want to see RG drive, but I thought it was a positive sign seeing him get other people into his equipment.

RGFan
February 14th, 2007, 08:55
Yeah, I just went back to Motorsports One to look at the entry list and they have updated their entry list. Robby will be driving on Saturday. Sooner or later he needs to get a full time driver to run the Busch Series to grow his team. RGM typically has top 10 Busch Cars prepared and I would think there would be alot of people jumping to drive a RGM Busch Car. Put PJ Jones in it, Kerry Earnhardt, How about Jeff Earnhardt. What about that kid that was fired from Evernham a few years ago. Anyways, there are alot of qualified people who IMO would kick some butt driving for Robby

yea, that chain reaction thing that happens all the time at daytona hit two good cars... Robby's and Casey MEars'.. That was his back up car that got srecked, so he needs s 3rd car!! Looks like either one will come in from NC or they will use Kyle Busch's Back up...not the best way to start eh season, but oh well
:(

How would he use Kyle Busch's car? The whole Ford/Chevy thing might be a bit of a challenge...Not that I don't hope he will have a ride...Doesn't Roush have a few extra cars laying around?

Thank you- I'm easily confused, so it's no surprise.

I heard somewhere else on the world wide waste of time that RG is using someone's race shop in Daytona to try to get the Busch car repaired and ready so he doesn't have to go back NC...

Not until 3 eastern. Here's a link to the schedule (took about 3 minutes to find, should have taken 30 seconds if the site had a decent design!).

Thanks...greatly appreciated...yeah, I saw the interview with RG after that Busch mishap yesterday...he said they'd take it out of the track, repair it and qualify it today...On a slightly seperate note....

I was home yesterday as my son was sick so I got to watch RG's day live on TV...My wife comes home at like 5 and asks me how RG did on the day...my response..."Well if you consider wrecking like a 1/2 million $'s worth of cars in the span of 3 hours good, then he did GREAT!!"

Yes, not a good day at all yesterday. What concerns me more is in testing is that Car 7A (back up) sucked speed wise. That Busch car man, how in the heck are they going to fix that and have it competetive for today. THe amount of time they spend on those right front fenders alone for drafting is huge, much less the entire front end. He has had two busch drafting cars in the past, I wonder where the other car is. I would think that if it was in North Carolina, they would have had someone just tow it down to Daytona and massaged on a good car, rather than rebuilding a now POS

It does help alot. He can still get a feel what how the track is going to change. It is still a 300 mile tire test. And shake the bugs out and re-familiarize himself with the draft and nut to butt racing. They say it is like riding a bike. Do not expect him to jump out to the front early. Being that he had to qualify on time and that they are not allowed to touch the car after qualifying, they probably have a qualifying set up in the car. They will be able to adjust it for the race during their first pit stop. On a different note, I was listening to XM Radio last night on my way home and they did an interview with Larry Mac. He came out and said that POS and his entire 55 team should have been sent home for 4 races. He thought the 55 team was very fortunate and that the penalties issued just gave the teams a green light to "push the envelope". He said that there is 3 items you do not mess with under any circumstances in Nascar.........Cubic Inches, Tires and fuel. As far as tape coming off of the other cars, they asked him if he ever heard of tape coming off accidentally and he responded" Only if I wanted it to come off accidentally".

Yeah, I was pretty stoked. My wife recieved a pretty nice bonus. SHe wanted to re-decorate the family room. So she got a new couch, love seat, chair and ottoman. SHe also wanted to have an entertainment center built. Actually very reasonable price wise. They needed the measurements on the TV. SO we agreed on a 42inch plasma. Went to a few places. When she saw the 50 inch, she changed her mind. I played the part and told her we agreed on a 42 inch. When she finally told me it was up to me, I got a **** eatin grin and ordered the 50 inch before she changed her mind.:D

Now all we need is SPEED in HD, ESPN is doing BUSCH in HD this year and even the pre race show looks good. The truck race was fun but even better if in HD. Tony Raines carries my style of TV and at 62" it's become my biggest obstacle in getting past the family room and out in to the garage where there is always work to do.

BUSCH race less than a hour away just time enough time to mow that backyard.

LOL:D I am taking the afternoon off. I was going to work on the boat today, but right after I picked up the boat from storage, I was at a 4 way stop and this little ranger rear ended a stopped Dodge Durango at 45 mph. I ran to the ranger and the little old guy, not wearing his seat belt was tucked under the dash and was unconscious. He woke up about 2 minutes later but did not know where he was or what was going on. So I held cervical traction of his neck/head until the ambulance got there, he had a 4 inch full thickness laceration on his forehead. Shortly after that he was unconscious again and they were calling the helicopter. Enough drama for one day.

Good finish for RG, first race in the fusion. This race served a huge purpose today. Handling has been almost a non-existant issue in the past, but more important at Daytona then Talladega. But this year with the new tire, it has become a prominant issue. Looks like fuel mileage was not an issue after all. It was close though.

JRod
February 17th, 2007, 13:45
REally glad fuel mileage wasn't an issue- With no motor/aero packages, I would think it would less than exact science all year. Hopefully tomorrow will be more of the same good luck, good driving, good results.

I disagree, he's goin for the win, nothin less

Obviously, it is no longer an issue. But if it was closer, I think he would have. He has a new sponsor, a legit Busch program this year, first since 2004. If it had been one offs like 05 and 06, then yeah, nothing to loose. He needs consistant finishes to keep sponsors. But, it worked out, he placed 11th, solid finish. Tons of info as far as tire characteristics for tomorrow. Those tires really fell off after about 20 laps.
