So much to choose from

COT, MWR, RGM, MM, CM, just name a topic

Hard to make a prediction on this one but another top 20 for RGM would be huge IMHO.

cant wait to see what all these new cars look like when there beat and battered the bristol way..

we should have a poll on which lap a wing or a "splitter" flys into the croud and takes a head off.. that should end the COT debate.. haha.

I read somewhere that the splitters were designed to fit under the car in front. was this the first bump? or the second one?

also for us RG fans .. I suppose this should end the aero/engine debate too.

Can't wait to see this play out. That is for sure. As far as RG... I'm just hoping for a better than top 25 and a car that is in one piece so they can actually keep good notes and not have to do the mad rebuild back at the shop.

These are mine and RGFAN's post on my duplicate Bristol thread that I deleted.

From NIKAL;
This week there are only 50 cars entered so 7 will go home. On Jayski RGM's sponsor is listed as Jim Beam, but on NOL RGM's sponsor is shown as Robby Gordon Motorsports. I hope there are not more sponsor issues this week.

From RGFAN;
They have 12 holes to plug up with Harrahs pulling out. Jayski is usually right on with his list. One race is out of the way, so there are 11 races to cover. Where in the hell is Monster? I thought that was a "done deal".

That makes two of us!

Can't wait to see how the COT performs, luckily I'll be back from prerunning the CODE race Saturday afternoon. These passed few races have been pretty boring, should be interesting this weekend.

If anybody can figure out how to drive the COT it's RG

The best laps, IMO

Each lap from 2 until 26: Fox announcers point out Mark Martin is not in the race.

Lap 27: Michael Waltrip mows his lawn.

Lap 37: It appears that Goodyear's plan to make the tires out of balsa wood was ill conceived. The race is marred by numerous flat tires and, a preponderance of little wooden airplanes makes the air seem foggy.

Lap 96: The 63rd caution of the day is brought out by Robby Gordon, who threw a cell phone at Jeff Burton's No. 31 car.

Lap 97: Cingular sues Robby Gordon.

Lap 98: A.J. Allmendinger, Friday driver of a Toyota for Team Red Bull, makes himself a peanut butter sandwich.

Lap 285: Dale Earnhardt Jr. falls 315 laps down.

Lap 260: Tony Stewart chuckles to himself that he was right: The Car of Tomorrow handles exactly like a wood-paneled station wagon. Of course, because he's Tony Stewart, he's fine with that, and he's 14 laps ahead of the rest of the field.

Maybe OTC 360 would be intersted in being on a car for a limited amount of races on a team that is currently 16th in points. At least they would be guaranteed to be in the race.

#36 BDR team shutting down? UPDATE: was told about a report on a local racing radio show, Gary Danko's Speedway Line Report, a 90 minute show [WATR 1320AM out of Waterbury CT] where Jeff "The Jet" Zarella of the #15 DEI team said that he is hearing that the #36 360 OTC Toyota team of Bill David Racing, that Jeremy Mayfield drives for, could shut down soon, and said he had heard that if the #36 didn't make last weeks race at Atlanta, the team would not run at Bristol. However, the team and Mayfield are listed on the Bristol Nextel Cup race entry list and have checked with a few sources and been told the team and Mayfield will attempt Bristol.(source: Gary Danko's Speedway Line Report)
AND in the Bristol pre-race report from Billdavisracing.com...quotes Jeremy Mayfield on Bristol Motor Speedway…“Maybe this whole Car of Tomorrow thing is exactly what this team needs right now. Something new, something different. We feel like we’re working so hard day in and day out, and we haven’t got anything to show for it. It’s tough. It’s tough to stay positive and not drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what you’re doing wrong. But I don’t think there’s anything major that is wrong right now. It’s just been a bunch of little stuff, and sometimes we beat ourselves and sometimes we just plain get beat. There’s no room for error in Nextel Cup racing anymore. Each and every team that shows up has a legitimate shot at making the race. The days of field fillers are over, and we need to step up our program to get where we need to be so that we’re one of the teams that makes the field every Friday. It’s just that simple; we won’t give up until we get there. We show up every weekend thinking we’ll race on Sunday, and that’s not going to change. This is a good bunch of guys, and we’ll get there because no one is going to let anyone give up.”(3-21-2007)
UPDATE: nothing new on this..yet, but noticed....the 360 OTC website had a forum/message board for Jeremy Mayfield fans, but it has supposedly been shut down and folks cannot log on to it.(3-22-2007)

Well, that would fit with the latest video on RG's website where he says that he will have to run unsponsored in some races this year...which is really pathetic given all the sponsor money going to multiple teams that are not even making the race each week and yet he has run in the top 20 all year long so far and goes without....really poor, poor, poor...

Robby seems to be doing pretty well speed wise. Granted he is 32 on speed, he is a tad over 2/10ths off of the pace. Hopefully he can survive Bristol and escape with another top 20. Robby has had some solid runs at Bristol, but that last 100 laps always seems to bite him, hence the poor finshing average. If the COT can survive Bristol, It should be able to survive anywhere. Once again Red Bull (AJ) and MWR are running like crap. Vickers looks like he has the speed to make it though.

I don't think speed will be a issue at Bristol.I have a feeling that everyone is going to have problems with the set-up. Who ever can stay out of trouble and keep thier temper in check will have a good run. I also have a feeling that there will be alot of teams going to the back of the pack and getting busted at tech!

I think Nascar just fixed the cheating problem with their new penalty policy announced this morning. Starting with a 6 figure fine and atleast 100 championship driver/owner points. They are reffering to it as the "Michael Waltrip Rule". That amount of points is quite a bit more then 25 points which has been customary.

RGM & RG Offroad are separate companies so he could definately charge RGO for the sponsorship but it's moving money from one pocket to the other. Taxable income in RGM and a deduction in RGO. However, if RGO is profitable and RGM is not it makes perfect sense to smooth the earnings over both companies.

Maybe the RGOffroad contract with Monster is tied to operating costs ....well advertising just went up so pay up sucka!

On the lineup sheet, RG Offroad Wheels is the sponsor on the car. Good for Robby to qualify on time again. Hopefully he'll continue his good luck.

Poor Dale Jarrett, just to be affliated with MWR right now must be bad enough. Even without Harvick and Busch taking owner points, he still wasn't fast enough to qualify on time. Even his own boy (Reutimann (sp)) was faster than him. To make things worse, Blaney, Vickers, and Allmendinger all qualified on time, with Toyota equipment. So we know it's not a car/ power problem. Karma's a *****. Maybe he will learn to shut his mouth now.

#16 declared too low after Bristol race: #16-Greg Biffle's team faces penalties after his car failed post-race inspection following a fifth-place finish. Robin Pemberton, NASCAR's vice president for competition, said the car was too low. Pemberton would not speculate on the penalty, which could include a fine and points deduction, saying inspectors wanted to go over the car completely at the R&D Center in Concord, N.C., before a ruling is made. Biffle's car, as well as the #5 of winner Kyle Busch, were taken to Concord as a part of what will be a routine process as NASCAR implements the Car of Tomorrow this season. Pemberton said Busch would have the car back in time for Martinsville. That was good news to crew chief Alan Gustafson, who plans to use the car as a backup next week

You know, the 16 is having a rough weekend. FIrst comes news of their sponsorship issues, then being to low. Now Nascar has given Roush until the start of the 2010 season to dump the 5th car. ROush said that he would like to sell the "5th" car to an established Ford team and still give some sort of tech support to the team. This could really be a good thing for RG. Although that would be contigent on securing sponsorship. Bring Paul Menard over, put him in the car. I think John Menard would foot the bill for the tech support. And buying tech support for one car would be buying tech support for all of the cars really. Look how well Boris Said has done with it. Do not get me wrong, he can drive the wheels off of a car, but you just do not get into a stock car on the Cup level and start scoring top 10's right out of the box for every race you enter. Anyways, just day dreaming.

I wonder if Biffle will comment on the situation tonight on INC.

The 7 car looked horrible.

Only read the last few pages and dont know if anyone has mentioned it, but did anyone hear when the announcers talked about RGO and desert racing? Thought that was pretty cool:D

I was hoping Jarrett would have had a good day since qualifying in on time. Blaney was having a top 10 run and glad to see Vickers getting a top 15.

Being a Toyota guy is kind of painful watching Cup races these passed few weeks...

Nice, late in the race when the 07 and the 9 car got together the anouncer said I don't think that was really Robby's fault. No ** OOH LA LA**** OOH LA LA**** OOH LA LA**** OOH LA LA**** OOH LA LA**, he was on the other side of the track.

A bad video update with pics only. I have to admit though, I like the written updates better, just more info/stats provided. I would like to have both.

Did he pull the pictures from RGM's site? Maybe that is why it was shut down. If not he had pretty good access to get them himself. He did a pretty good job on it.
