NHRA Funny Car driver Eric Medlen dies

Just read on NHRA.com that Eric Medlen passed away. That really sucks. He was a great person for the sport.

I was thinking the samething. But John is a racer, he eats and sleeps racing. I saw on that tv show he had how upset he was that all his girls didnt show interest in the sport and company. But it is differant when it's one of your racers that die and Eric's dad has work for Force for a long time. So maybe he will look at Ashley doing this and think
"Maybe I dont want her in these cars".

I can't imagine the pain the team is going through. All of the stuff John has survived, almost like racing is safe, then to lose a young man he thought of as a son and still put his daughter in the car. Tough to go back to work...

I think this is a horrible thing, and Godspeed Eric. To go from a crew guy to driver of a funny car is just plain awesome.

Very sad news. But they are racers and they will keep racing. What I think is great is the amount of effort being put in to determine the cause. And also that the information is being shared with all the teams. I am sure a few of you know what I am thinking about... Oh well maybe off road will progress one of these days.. I have always had respect for John Force and now I have even more.
