JR Motorsports Signs Jeremy McGrath: JR Motorsports is signing seven-time Supercross champion rider Jeremy McGrath to a developmental driver contract, with Monster Energy Drink as his primary sponsor, the SportsBusiness Journal reported. Like Supercross star Ricky Carmichael, who began driving for Ginn Racing last month, McGrath will run a series of late model races before potentially working his way into a Busch Series car. Monster Energy's sponsorship at JR Motorsports is expected to follow McGrath's progression.


what's the deal with Rg and his monster colors but no logos on the car? fly?

interesting how the "older" bike guys are ready to give this a try.

I know I've said this before but, I think this might be the reason Monster did not or maybe is not extending its contract with RGM. Monster is still on RG's helmet and one the Cup pit crew, also they are on RG's off road program. But maybe the reason they decided not to do a primary sponsorship deal with RGM is because the Ricky / Jeremy deal was in the works. These deals don't just happen over night. Hence the black cars we have been seeing. And the fact that Harrahs pulled out due to being sold.

Sweet, i was wondering what has been going on with him! He's definetly got one fan that will be following his new pavement career, although i would have like to see him do some more CORR stuff.

I second that.. I grew up watching Mcgrath and have always been a big fan of his... I really looked forward to the CORR deal, which i thought was great.. as they say "with age, comes a cage" i thought CORR would be the next step for him.. but as RG says, IT PAYS THE BILLS..:( GOOD LUCK JEREMY!!

watching nascar now, it sounds like Metzger and James Stewart are going to make the jump soon. Should be interesting....
