Ahhh---it's okay...NOT! It's gonna be WFO door-to-door full contact closed course racing..expect some of the best racing in a long time. We've been at the track for two days and the high banked turns, and straight aways are going to make for tight passing and difficulty meter is going to be HIGH for some.

The Monster/Potawatomi/Toyota Pro-4 Driver, Johnny Greaves, set the fast lap in the newly built Greaves Brothers-built Terrible Herbst Pro-4 truck by four seconds among drivers attending including Renezeder, Cenni, Douglas and all the rest.

Pro-Lite and Pro-2 action is just gonna be friggin nutz...and no I don't get a dime from CORR to pimp their stuff...but the talk among the industry is the racin' is gonna be wild.

Red Bull's Rob MacCachren had the Barlow Pro-2 figured out by mid-afternoon and stayed with two top Pro-4's during practice...Rob MAC is BACK!

Greaves Motorsports is testing in Arizona on Wednesday at a facility away from Antelope Valley and then onto PIR in Phoenix where Greaves is the celebrity on the NASCAR Road Rules Reality Show. Johnny is at the helm of the DIRTnewz/FOX Racing Shox Dodge Ram Diesel hauling the mail on I-10 as I give you the latest from the right seat.

More over the next two days here at the RDC and DN.

Just for clarification we had Johnny's best at 54.3 second lap in the new Herbst built Pro4 and Carl's best lap at 53.1 sec. in his old overweight Pro4. Carl also had all Pro2's covered by a full 1.5 second cushion. The biggest variable is track condition. Track condition will change lap times up to 2 to 5 second per lap variance.

Just keep in mind, this means nothing. I have learned over the years you can win practice, but race day is completely different.

Tim, you said "high banked turns". Where did they put those at? When I was out there a few weeks ago it was pretty flat. Banks should be cool. Post some pics/video if you have it.

Jeff, how's things going with the Volkspower team?

I drive by the track on my way to my shop. Looks like the motocross track next door inspired the track design. Today the wind is howling. The canopies on top of the grand stands were flapping in the wind this morning. 50% chance of rain friday. Saturday and sunday in the 60s. Hope the winds die down by the weekend. Good Luck

Yes, the truck will be ready. Unfortunatley, the only test time I have on it is at Lucerne Dry lake bed last week. This weekend will basically be it's first real test session. I'm sure we'll learn alot by the end of the weekend.

Tested tuesday, track is good and it should make for some great racing. The wind sucks and hopefully it is calm this weekend (it is today). Truck feels great, motor is strong, gearing and tranny choices are very close and I expect to run strong this weekend. There were a few things I was not happy with on the truck and glad I figured them out tuesday and not friday/saturday. Look forward to seeing everyone out this weekend.

Johnny Greaves Motorsports Announces New CORR and WSORR Team for 2007 – The Monster Energy, Potawatomi Toyota Pro-4 Team is Ready to Defend CORR Title and Take WSORR by Storm

Above is the title to a press release on Johnny's website. If I had to take a guess, it sounds as if Greaves will be racing the full CORR schedule and also compete at all the WSORR events that do not conflict with the CORR schedule.

I agree, I think that would be the best for JG. I believe the Potawatomi gave him the green light to do the CORR schedule. Hopefully next year CORR and WSORR can agree on a non conflicting schedule, we as racers should lock those two groups in a room and not let them out until they hash out a combined schedule.

Just got home from media day. The track is petty tight. The tabletop before the first turn gonna be interesting with large classes.
They announced that they're going with a Le Mands style/land rush start with all the trucks lined up on one side.
Also- somethin like 60 Trophy carts....

That's LeMans dude. Anyway which is it? Land rush features side by side, LeMans is staggered. In a LeMans style everyone parks on a 45 deg. angle to the straightaway. They should technically all be on about the same "plane" as viewed from a perpendicular axis. This style was used at Lake Geneva for many years and was fun from a spectator standpoint. In large classes it is probably a little safer than the land rush also.
