Race was great! Boyers had a 1-2-3 sweep in 1600. Greaves Tundra was faster than s**t. He won Pro4, Ed Herbst 2nd and I don,the atrium truck 3rd. I don't recall who won Pro2. The Monster Tundra was way faster than the rest of the field. Going back tomorrow. wo wo :D

I have to give a huge THANK YOU to the Baldwin family and everyone at CORR. I have nothing to complain about in todays race. A great atmosphere. Great people all around. And fast a*$ trucks!!!!!!!!
Did anyone see Troy launch his truck off the K-rail and straight up into the air, BACKWARDS, WITH NO HARNESS OR HELMET? What happened there? Glad he wasnt hurt, or anyone around him.

I think a stuck throttle, that was crazy looking and could have been really bad.
Glad no one got hurt in that deal

Hey guys, how full were the stands? I'm thinking about trucking the 3 hour drive down there in the morning, but I would hate to show and hear "sold out".

Probably about 75% full today. I doubt you'll have any trouble getting a ticket tomorrow.

And it was a really good time.....

Agreed....that could've been ugly. If there was anybody behind him at that point, they would've been crushed.

As for the racing.....awesome as usual. I just hope that the officials met last night about a couple of things so that today runs a little smoother.

First, it took a ridiculous amount of time to stage each race. How many times did some of those guys have to pull up, back up, move over, pull back up....ok right there.....no wait a minute the "LeMans" style line isn't straight...go back to the first guy and have him back up.....then the second guy have him pull up.......

The down time was waaaaaayyyyy too much and made everything run off schedule.

Second, what was the deal with the yellow flag racing????? There were times in the Pro4 race where it was supposed to be a full course yellow, and people are still passing. I know they had the stoplights on the track, but from the stands, it looked like pure confusion. It was never clear when it was partial yellow, full course yellow, green flag back out, etc.

Alright rant over.......hope everybody has fun out there today!!

I looked at the results, is RJ racing pro4 instead of pro2? When did that happen?

Lancaster, CALIFORNIA - Robby Gordon drove his Monster Energy Pro-2 to the second qualifier here this morning at Antelope Valley. Gordon jumped inside the black Pro-2 and blasted across the racetrack ending any speculation that Gordon would be a field filler in today's race.

yesterday was awesome!!! The Pro 4 races were just insane lots of contacte and a couple good crashes. Johnny Greaves is the man though he so dang fast. I wish I could have made it back out their today.

The recap of yesterday's racing posted on the Corr website said Josh Baldwin rolled and ended up on the hood.... Does any one have any more details. This could explain why RJ was driving the pro4 in the cup race.

Does this mean he won a race or he ran a good race or that he ran fast laps to qualify for the show?

I am sure that anyone thought Flash was a field filler!

It means he qualified second for todays race, Corr does qualifying for starting position now. I can't wait for someone to post some results, RG starting second off the line most likely put on a show for everyone!

Ricky Johnson is racing both Pro-2 and Pro-4 on Baldwin's team. he did well in pro-4 for and i believe he broke an upper link in pro-2 when he got into it with Whelchel in the first corner

I just got back, and RG did qualify in second place. He gave it a good go of it until about the last few laps. He was mid pack and the right front wheel came off. Game over. LOTS of carnage!!!!! Pro4 had the most wreckage. Greaves rode the K rail coming out of turn 1 right at the start and hit a telephone pole head on!! Ended his day pretty quick. If I can remember the winners I will post.

I forgot one thing. At the end of the pro2 race, one of the trucks rolls about 100 ft. from where RG was sitting in the infield and stops on its side. It looked like 2 or 3 of the course worker kind of froze when it burst into flames. Now I know alot of people
myself included, don't always care for RG. But I have to give him huge props for his selfless act of running to the aid of the driver and helping him exit the truck. Pretty cool to witness this. Changed my view on him totally.

I must admit the rolls are awesome to see and mixes up the field. However, I grew up in a family that has been in short course racing for many many years and I know the amount of man hours and money that goes in a race truck or buggy. My heart goes out to the driver and team memebers that have to put it back together. Thanks for the updates.

Well Robby either wins or breaks right? Dirtnewz said he was way out in the lead when he broke the shock, shucks. Hopefully he gets out there for at least all the cup races this year, it will be great to see him get some wins.

Yesterdays pro 4 cup race was the most incredible racing I have seen ever. Todays race wasnt anythign spectaculor, all the fast pro 4's got taken out in the first turn except for Carl.

THe pro2 races today were pretty good but not spectaculor. Welchel spun out on his parade lap in the beginning chewed out his crew for giving him a POS motor and then went on to win the race. Robby was doing good but bent the A-frame and it was way too squirrly for him to go fast and eventually the wheel passed him as seen above.

Robby in the cup race was on fire. It was a RG, Welchel, RM, RJ show down and then RG broke. I thought RJ was going to take the lead in the last turn to the checkers but had to check up hard as he got pinched off...welchel won 2 for 2 on sunday. RG will be a threat if he wants to be...

the new corr crew tried some new things that were bound to cause confusion. that pro-4 race was an embarrasment and they promptly went back to the tried and true way of handling cautions(except for the mandatory at lap 8)

saturday's race between carl and johnny was epic, made up for mediocre racing throughout the rest of the day. sunday's pro-2 cup race also completed with spectacular racing. as more of the new west coast drivers learn their equipment this season i expect the bar to keep going up.

I think the sunday prolite race with Cassy Currie almost getting his first win to be denied in the last turn was very entertaining. The racing was great all day, the wind sucked and so did the music blasting to load and somtimes during the racing. I did not like these starts, it was my first Corr race and was really looking forward to seeing land rush starts.
So with this new west coast (and Texas) scedule, is there no more Borg-Warner cup? Or did that stay with the other tracks?

ONE_RJ
April 23rd, 2007, 09:38
That was some of the best racing in a long time, if you were not there you missed an unbeliveable display of action & driving talent in all classes. You will be able to watch the Pro2 & Pro4 Cup races on NBC, this Saturday.

How about 2 white flags in the cup race, beacuse the actions was so good the flag man was watching instead of throwing the checker flag !

How can this not be the best form of motorsports racing to watch bar none. Why aren't more large sponsors jumping at this to advertise? Maybe this weekend will make it change.

I also was confused on that. When is the end of the race? I don't remember them doing the compition caution on that race ether.

The Borg-Warner Cup stays at Crandon, as it should. The largest crowd currently in off road racing, the best track, and the largest fields of cars. IMHO Crandon will be awesome this year. You West Coast guys need to book a ticket in to Milwaukee or Midway in Chicago. Southwest flys into Midway. Great fares, less than six hour ride up to the track.

I love Crandon. For the boys who have not raced it, need to give it a try!

I would spend $10 more bucks and fly into Rhinelander, which is half hour away from Crandon or Green Bay which is a two hour drive.

I take the $10 comment back. I am going to Cal twice in the future.I am flying out of Green Bay to Cal. for one trip and out of Rhinelander for the other trip to Cal. and my ticket from Rhinelnader was about $40 cheaper.
