Not in San Diego. The local NBC affiliate, KNSD, has decided to show the Chicago Auto Show instead of the CORR race. I sent them an e-mail, suggest you do the same or call them. Here's the contact info:

Well when you take NBC's production staff and their two NEXTEL CUP broadcasters (Wally and Weber - No Benny RIP) it was just flat out the best off road production I've seen done.

just watched it... didn't hardly sit down the whole time!!!! i was at the race sunday and it was awsome to see other views or the track (not that our seats in the stands were bad at all)
it sounded like W & W were trying to call the races live and were having to much fun watching the racing to focus on their jobs...lol right on guys!!!
hopefully by the end of the year coverage will be in HD but i did watch it on NBCHD on directv so atleast i had dolby digital surround sound
thanks to the Baldwins and NBC for bringing off-road racing back to the masses, and thanks to the sponsors who I'm sure helped a lot, Monster, Kumho Tires, and Lucas!
i can't wait for pamona, i'll be there saturday and will be watching NBC the weekend after!
ps i dvr'd it on my directv hd box but i dont have a dvd recorder if anyone wants a copy just swing by with a dvd recorder and some coors light :)

Yep, was really fun to watch, and great that the first CORR show on NBC was a battle down to the wire. I thought they did a good job building up the rivalry and competitive nature of the sport at the beginning of the show. Good stuff.
It was interesting how they did the NBC Sports Update from the studios in NYC at the beginning of the show. Really cool to hear CORR mentioned along with NFL and NHL in the same segment.
Also noticed nascar pre-race coverage on cbs at the same time as CORR. Maybe some of those fifty gazillion viewers clicked over to CORR during commercials.
I know the numbers will eventually tell the truth, but from my subjective view, the first show was a very good start. Really looking forward to CORR rounds 3 & 4 – both live and on NBC.

I thought it was great.
I think having the NASCAR group there doing the announcing and interviews definitely raised the bar on the coverage and the great racing didn't hurt either.
I also thought it was cool to watch their coverage and then match my shots to what I was seeing.
Haul all that dirt down to Pomona and lets do it again!
I think this coverage will not only be good for CORR but desert racing too.

That Pro4 race was the absolute best possible way to introduce new viewers to the sport, Huseman Greaves and Carl put on a helluva show! That was the best offroad show i've ever seen. Hopefully that will carry over into their Baja coverage as well.
Why the hell couldn't Bill Weber get Whelchel's name right? Over the course of the race he called him "Jeremy", "Weitzel" and "Whelcher"!

Thats what I have been thinking about for a while. I have mentioned it here before, but I will say it again.
I like the Glen Helen Baja Challenge. Now I want to see SCORE at Glen Helen, or similar track, and run an endurance type race in a closed course environment. Kinda like the Laughlin race but in other Venues. Just my $.02...

The ratings will not be much lower than they should be because of a few mix ups with CORR and the network. First, on Time Warner Cable, it was listed as an auto show. Most offroad fans would not have known to watch. Second, many people thought it was supposed to aire later that afternoon, so they missed it. Third, my DVR did not have any listing for CORR, Championship Offroad Racing, Offroad racing or even auto racing listed for NBC.
They had similar problems with the cable company last year. I am sure Baldwin will address these issues before the next race as he did last year. Then we will see the real numbers.

Got home from the shop after midnight...was going to watch the race I Tivo'd--horror and shock it did not record! Hope I can find a copy from someone lol! My buddy and I were going to watch it this morning as we both had to work yesterday. Almost dashed to a buddies house to watch it but figured I'd just catch it later...still not sure why it did not record...Uggh!!! First we don't make the race and now this! Heard from my brother and some friends it was an awesome production. One of my good friends who has never been to a CORR race says he won't miss the next one now for sure. The exciting racing should help alot with fan attendance at the races. If you liked the show then being there is like 10 times better as you can see the whole track which you miss when its on TV where you only see the leaders or what ever camera they have on... Plus getting close to the drivers/crew/trucks in the pits is an awesome experience in itself!

I just watched it twice this morning (love Tivo!). Great coverage and great racing. Too bad Robby broke, looked like he was going to run away with it.

http://idisk.mac.com/steve_n-Public/nbc.jpg
All,
Having spent the better part of 20 years in this sport, it is almost impossible to measure the short and long term impact that the CORR/Baldwin/NBC relationship will have on the entire off-road landscape. I absolutely agree with Steve, but Saturday's show is a defining moment in the entire 40 years of off-road racing.
We all need to take a moment and send congratulations to both CORR and NBC -- especially to Mr. Baldwin for making an incredible investment in taking his vision (and our sport) to the next level. As for the desert, we should all be grateful that NBC also carries the Baja 500 and 1000 -- but desert racing will always be much more expensive, complex and difficult to cover. CORR is made for television drama, and like NASCAR and NHRA, the right move, IMHO, is to focus, focus, focus on the drivers, teams and trucks that make up the top two classes...as much as I love Pro-Lite and the buggy ranks (oh, love those TrophyKarts too). The point is trying to take the sport to new audiences, not to confuse potentional new fans.
The eventual hope is to fill seats and make the sport more financially viable. Just my .02...
Best,
Marty

Wow.. just imagine if it was possible to downloaded the show via the internet. ...oh wait, it is possible.

Regarding the NBC production, I thought they did a good job of focusing on the fountainheads of the sport and building up the rivalry and competitive nature of the sport. Also thought the show looked a lot slicker (less cluttered) than the previous Speed TV shows. Overall very good first production.
Are there any better solutions for keeping the fiberglass on?
I think the fiberglass coming off doesn't look good on TV. Plus I'm sure sponsors don't like it either.

Maybe they'll post it on their website like they did with last years "Jason Baldwin Cup" (http://www.corracing.com/2007/index.php?p=gallery&type=2&gallery_id=118&page2=) finale. It's pretty cool if you haven't seen it yet.

The coverage was fantastic.
It looks like CORR is modeling the NASCAR pkg. (demographic locations, TV, sponsor / contingency program, weekend RV parking, and a professional marketing program) which should be good in the sense that it will bring more exposure to offroad. Ck. "The Journey" (http://www.corracing.com/2007/index.php?p=gallery&type=2&gallery_id=120&page2=)and their site, which is looking really good. The new mktg. team is doing a good job.
Just think if a kid could start in a Trophy Kart @ 8 yrs. old and end up with a full ride and a financially viable career in Pro 4 by age 21, like Nekcar???
Thanks CORR, and boy I hope this works for NBC...GREAT COVERAGE. WELL DONE, you gotta love Wally!!!

I'm sure the sponsors understand that the fiberglass ripping off is part of short-course racing. And the fans absolutely love it. Take that away and there is a possibility of drawing less fans.

I meant finding a way to reinforce or find a slightly more pliable material to cut down on the vanishing fenders. I did not mean cut down on the door to door, bump and run style of short course racing. As far as sponsors understanding, they pay for a rolling billboard so that is what they expect.

Could be one of the reasons Nascar has insisted on steel bodies, besides I'm sure the teams wouldn't mind keeping an extra couple of thousand bucks per race in their pockets not replacing skin.

Yeah, maybe someone ought to start making diecast souvenir race trucks with all the panels busted off (like that #19 Herbst truck pictured above) That would be real neat :)
...fans absolutely love it. Take that away and there is a possibility of drawing less fans.
I don't think that it's necessarily trucks without fiberglass that fans love, but rather the exciting fender-to-fender racing action with contact and crashes, which is the cause of the fiberglass breaking off. So the question is: Is it possible to design body panels that can handle contact?
IMO, I think they look way cooler with the panels on, like in this Bryan Harrold "2006 Photo of the Year":
