What does everyone think of the Competition Yellow? Try to be constructive in your reply regardless if you are for or against them.
I feel they are okay if you always have them on the same lap and in every race. This is the only way I see to do it and keep things fair. Without them I feel the races may need to be longer to allow the race to play out in a more entertaining way (i.e. blow tire but come back to win).
So what do you think?

i guess i am the first to vote for the yellow at the directors discretion.
i just like that it could be thrown out at any time. If it were a set point, people could hold back knowing that they would have exactly 6/7/10 laps left to make a charge with a fresh truck. where when it is held at discretion they dont know when they are going to throw it, and could bring a "walk away race" back into a race between more trucks, and take away from the truck that is good on long runs vs. the guys that are good sprinters.
just throws some extra sponitinaity into it. i like it

From a mid-pack driver's standpoint, I liked the yellow at a designated lap. It gives another opportunity to advance. The fast guys are so much faster that even if I was able to pick up my pace a little durring the race, I would never have a chance of seeing them again. Once the yellow goes back to green, the race is full action again. I can see that someone that has checked out would not like it, but I have never been in that situation.

Competition Yellow is Gay.
Full course yellow when not absolutely needed is almost as Gay.

I don't like them. The starts/re-starts are where everyone gets taken out. I would rather see them race then just have a wreck. IMHO

im not sure what part of "gay" is a constructive reply.
would you like to explain yourself and why you think that it is homosexual?

I like the yellow they throw mid race but I didn't like the full course yellow they were doing when there was a crash. I think the competition yellow should be on a the same lap every time that way the efficals can't play favorites and give any trucks an advantage

Our team likes them as it gives as a better chance at catching/passing competitors at the end of the race! Course we seem to always break before the end so its been a moot point so far. We could have had some top 10 finishes had we just cruised the whole race and finished instead of pushing hard and busting up the truck as sometimes 2/3 of the field is out by the end of the race lol!

How many laps are the races? If they are using the yellow as a kind of time out and catch up, maybe they could just have two short races with time in between?
just a thought.

Get rid of them, yellows should be for safety only not artificially bunching up the pack. Now that the sport is going big time on NBC it really takes away from CORRs credibility as a pro racing organization to manipulate the results. Too WWF like.

I feel like its against the true spirt of racing. But maybe a maditory pit stop? Let it be up to the drivers when to come in.

More laps, and maybe a mandatory pit stop.

DITTO!!!
I would hate to see our sport resort to the BS that NASCAR has been pulling lately, ask Tony Stewart about that crap. I like the idea of a mandatory pitsop to mix things up, but only if it adds to the true spirit of the competition!

is it feasible to see a pit stop on a pro 2 or pro 4 done in say 30 secs? changing tires and adding fuel

I don't like it for the reason that it was unnecessary to begin with. The racing was great the way it was. The lap(s) that are spent on this yellow just take away from the amount of laps that can be spent actually racing. I mean I've heard the argument that now if a driver gets a flat he now has a chance to catch up. Well I think many flats are caused by contact, before most drivers would lay off the unnecessary contact due to the fact that if you got a flat you are denied a podium (usually). I mean as dominant as some drivers were it wasn't like there were ever that many races where the lead driver just checked out anyway. Also, it drives up the cost with all the extra broken bumpers, susupension etc. etc. But I am sure the fiberglass manufacturing companies love it.

i totally disagree with a competition yellow but if it is going to be used it MUST be at a specified lap. if it's at the race directors discretion he can (knowingly or not) determine the outcome of the race.
that said, if CORR keeps using qualifying to put the fast cars in front they will need to keep the yellow to make sure they have any racing at all. with 30 years of developing rules and procedures in short course racing i think "throwing them all away" is a mistake.

I second that!!! Kartman
to me it is like rewarding the fat kid with a Hoho because he can't keep up with the others....If you can have a slow truck and still race the fast guy's at the end due to the organized yellow then what incentive is there to step up and better yourself/your equipment ....

I dislike the mandatory yellow. The sport of short course off-road doesn't need a slow down in pace to make it more exciting. Every restart last year I made up at least one spot, but I still don't like it. The mandatory pit stop thing realistically can't happen. The tire/wheel combo weighs around 120 lbs for Pro 2/4. The trucks have 20" of travel. It takes a while to change these things! In a few years, when the sport is bigger, the teams have more money and full time personnel, then the pit stop thing could happen.

Hey RocketMan, you put my thoughts down in your post!
I agree 200% I may be wrong but I thought that short course racing was more of a shoot out form of racing from beginning to end. I don't like a time out flag in short races.

its a love hate thing, you hate it when your out front and love when your behind. In single buggy your going 100% all the time you never catch the faster cars unless there is a yellow.I think we should race 10-11 laps two motos each day.short races will keep the pack together-no mandatory yellow and more racing with less down time. too much waiting for the next race too happen.but what do i know I just race single buggy.:D

I like the idea of two motos, and the short races seem like it would help no one get to far out, but i still would love to see a shortcourse race long enough to at least burn off one fuel load, but i dont think the feild is close enough yet for that to happen

I have a better idea,
Everyone can race the race as they normally would, but right before the finish they can line up all the trucks and everyone can cross the line at the same time, they will then hand out participation trophys to everyone.
