I'm doing a school research report on the history of short course racing i need to know how it began what series it was back then. what classes there where. who were the top dogs. also what tracks. thanks for the help.

good luck there is a lot info about short course. are you looking to keep you paper in one location? i know that way back in the day there was a short course track at riverside. i do believe robby gordon won the last race there!

josh nettles at wide open baja had a book, that the company was selling, about racing and i am sure it had a section on short course. look at their web page for their number!
crandon race started way back in the day, 35 plus years ago. you can go on their web page to find info!

Try doing a search on Wikipedia.com and you'll find lot's of info. Try searching for keywords: corr off road racing, crandon, mickey thompson, soda, etc.. Maybe Dana Brown will do a documentary about it: "Cheese Curds to Glory"

I heard a CEO (of a 30 year old company) give a keynote speech earlier this year where he said "our company has been around for 30 years, but we think this is just the beginning". ..that's how I pretty much feel about short course off road racing.
