Well if you had your little rear ends here we could discuss it over a cold one:D
Instead, I had to leave the track to come and inform you! YES there is a race.
Track looks awesome:) It rained a lot in the last 2 days so the track is nice and wet.
Weather is in the high 80's lower 90's.
A few west coast boys arrived today and are setting up shop!
My predictions for the weekend
Pro-2 Carl Renezdar (sp?) or Evan Evans (I would have taken Jerry Whechel (sp?) but he is not here:( )
Pro-4 Jonny Greaves (but I want Carl, Cenni, or Probst)
Pro-Lite Jeff Kincaid or Rodrigo Amp.(sp?)
Supper Buggy -Arron Hawley
Jamie Flannery pre-ran Josh Baldwins new Pro-4 truck last week. He was smoking fast. Unoffically he beat the track record on several different laps.
Excited about seeing Brandan G. back on the track!

I'm headed out tomorrow night....should be fun as usual. I can't wait to see Vandenheuvel in Hoek's truck, I'm really hoping to see that "kit truck" do well. I was hoping to see more of the CORR regulars there too, but the PL and P2 fields look pretty good without them.

Now that sounds real good! Wish I could be there this year! Maybe next year if all goes well.
Thanks for all the predictions and updates, keep them coming.
My predictions:
Pro4
Greaves will win at least one race, but I really want to see Cenni win one.
Pro2
(I like Dan V.), but I think the new truck might be a factor. Evan will win one, Taylor another.
Pro-Lite
Cassie Currie will win his first race this weekend!!! Kincaid will have problems, Hord will too, maybe Marty Hart will put it together again.

Racing was awesome all weekend long. Formula 4x4 got red flagged twice. Jerry Conrad had a Greaves style crash at turn one and walked away.

speaking of turn one....
douglas went over the wall in turn one too, heard the truck is really bad.
ugly crash in friday's pro-light race in turn one with four or five trucks. photos of both wrecks are on offroad.com.
matt gerald and josh hintz both broke bones this weekend in light buggy, matt's flip was in turn one as well.
saturday's pro-4 race was the best in a long long time. the officials finally let the drivers lean on each other without throwing black flags around. no dirty driving, just good hard racing. very cool
i think cenni tied the all time fast lap record?
wow, pro-2s are fast.:D

We were excited to get to Crandon and race our new truck, but we had problems that we thought were solved. One issue that needs to adressed is the lack of practice. I have not been on the track for 19 years and you get two laps on the track to qualify for the Borg Warner race? Then they ran late so no other practice that day. Saturday we got a green-white checker for practice, but a c-v joint brock on lap one. We ran two or three laps in the Saturday race before an transmition failed. Gordon Stoney took it apart too help us figure out the problem. New transmition for Sunday morning race, same failure on 1st lap. We had on left and decided to put it in the truck, we came to far to watch. In the last race, we ran 5 or 6 laps and the transmition is still working? Same builder on all of these, but different results. We lost a front drive line that put us out. The people at Crandon are great and we hope it can become part of the Corr schedule for next year. We will continue to work on our problems and see every one in Landcaster.

wow, pro-2s are fast.:D
a little different than a light buggy mike??? lol
what a great weekend at crandon, it was tough to just watch but we were glad to be a part.
not enough practice time
they never have pratice before borg warner qualifying, that's just the way it is but we too were disapointed friday nights and sunday's practices were cancelled. i think the World Series has 10 classes and keeping on schedule is very important. this was the first year they cancelled sunday practice to try to stay on schedule and i think this was the earliest the borg warner started in years.

This was my first visit to Crandon and I really enjoyed it! The people are very nice and the track is second to none. The track maintenance was superior. I was lucky enough to spend a little time at the Daugherty pit and they were a top notch bunch. Once they get everything ironed out, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with! Jumping right in to pro 4 can't be easy! Good job guys, and good luck next week!

One press release from a competitor mentions 120,000 spectators.
After finding it impossible to get even close to the Barn on Sunday, I'd say the three day total was closer to 80,000+.
It took Scott Taylor at least 15 minutes to get his truck from the tech barn back to his hauler after the Cup race. Usually it takes less than a minute. When the crowd emptied into the pit area after the racing, it was unbelievable.
