I have to ask is this race going to be the head ache that the origanal race was as far as parking to unload for teck The real Mint 400s you sure got your walking in and standing around for hours on end. Then you had to return at 9pm for the drivers metting so you had more miles to walk it seamd. For those that were there I am sure you will remember. as there were allways 350-400 entrys and 1981 there were over 500 entrys if i remember right, so there was hardly anywere to park, and of cource the police were out in force worce than the BLM at PrimmLOL They had 2 somtimes 3 different jumping lots that you moved your car to each one getting closer to fremont st under strickt escort of cource, and then after you were done you had to wait for escort back boy what a pain, I raced most all the Mint 400s from 1976 tell the end and It forsure was the place to be and I hope to be again but these are concerns that should be adressed

Dave, we have an area that is a few acres in size where we will be unloading/staging the cars... the cars will be escorted in groups by Metro PD from that location to Fremont Street and then back... We are also looking into providing transportation (think mini bus-ish) to run the crews and such back and forth from the parking/staging area to Fremont Street ...

it sounds like this might be better than the real Mint 400 as far as taking care of the teams we sure didnt have any acres to unload before so if we have a few then it might be ok. Police escorts wheeew not again LOL Oh well it is what it is when dealing with the Mint 400 but I have a question The erea where the Mint took place on freemont st is nothing like before and are you expecting as many contengency venders as the Mint had?? I hope so or it will take some of the luster out of the race if you just drive up to teck and drive back without the hours long lines we used to wait in. Also are they going to inpound the cars in the parking garage like the real Mint did and then escort the cars to the start erea? All these thing were the Mint 400 and leaving any of them out would take away the Mint experionce for those unlucky enough to never get to attend a Mint race. To me the Mint 400 and Riverside were the 2 best races on the calender ever AND THANK YOU JAMIE for helping to bring 1 of them back. It just cant carry the name its got to carry it all

Alot of us jeepspeeders are trying to have the mint 400 as part of our schedule for 2008. Sure hope it happens...if this race is even 80% of the old mint it will be one to remember

This is so cool. Some of my pictures including pic's of 904, (my 86 pics and ride), are doing well in the most viewed.
That was my last "failed" attempt at the Mint. So we will be back in March. It is so cool to get a Mulligan after all of these years, and try and finish the MINT.
As seen in the 904 photo, one of the sponsors "Rolo Farms", was almost lost this year, so we will be dedicating our run in March to Rolo, as well as George Hendrix, who gave me my first opprotunity to try four wheels.
