I picked up some 5/8's wheel studs from Napa. The last time I bought some for my last truck, I remember the drill bit was a strange size. The guy at Napa didnt know either. Anyone know the drill bit size?

I have 5/8-18 3" long. That is exactly what it says on the box. There is not one listed for that size. There are 4 possibilities 16mm, 41/64, 43/64. and 21/32. Anyone else?? Someone has had to buy these from Napa.

Here is the Dorman catalog. It says somewhere in Section 10 what the proper clearance is. I think its .005 to .010 less than the knurl diam of the stud. Anyone know for sure?

You haven't given enough information for anyone to help you. Measure the stud yourself or find somebody who can and post the dimensions of the Knurl. What are you pressing them into? Steel, aluminum, cast iron? Isnt there a part number and manufacturer name on the box. It could be many different sizes of knurl depending on what it is made for. Find a different Napa guy to deal with, they have calipers and all the info you need at their counter. They just dont always know how to use it.
