9in 3rd member setup

I am a first timer to setting up a 9in 3rd member. Any help would be great. I need to know how to setup the carrier bearing preload. How tight do I tighten the adjuster nuts. Which one do you tighten first.

If you use a normal length spanner wrench to set the preload on the side bearings (8 to ten inch range) , you can lean on it pretty hard, especially with new bearings. Hard to estimate actual torque value, but probably 50-60# range.
