I have a 14FF out of a 77 K20 that had factory 4.56 gears. It also had 29" tires and no overdrive.

Lol, not much fun on the highway eh? About 3500 rpm at 60!
Mesa, do you have a 1/2 ton now? 14 bff's are 8 lug, but can be converted to 5 or 6 if you have a full machine shop. 4.56's are rare in the 14bff; I have looked for 2 years and not found one. 4.56's in the 14bff came mostly on the cab & chassis versions, which are narrower than a normal srw truck. Its worth the effort to get a srw 14 bolt though, as the 10.5 ring gear 14bff is arguably the best passenger truck axle ever made. I recommend getting one on craigslist for $100 or less, throw on a disc brake conversion kit, rebuild it with new 4.56's, and drive it for 400K miles or the rest of your life, whichever comes first! Wrecking yards want $500 for 'em, so tell them to pound sand. I have bought 8 and havent paid more than $100 yet.
All the info in the world on the 14bff is on Pirate4x4.com in the tech section. Look up '14 bolt bible' by Billavista.
