What is that supposed to mean? Baldwins didn't do their jobs or the truck wasnt competitive ...? Robby doesn't have a good team? I thought the truck was great as well as robby. A few "more than slight brushes" with the K rail and the truck broke.
Oh yeah Robby is already fast too.

September 13th, 2007, 11:05
The truck broke because Wally D. was doing his hotlap Wally World segment before the race and almost crashed the truck big on the table top. That caused the steering issue which caused the k-rail issue which caused the DNF. With the race comming up right away, the team had no time to re-prep the truck (otherwise would have found said issue) and RG ran a tweaked truck...that is my opinion and I am sticking to it...flame on...

This short course stuff is all Robby... The truck should be making close to 900hp. RG will also put special attention to the build a set up... This won't be like RG just taking one lap before qualifing and then stomping the field to the first turn... RG in this truck will be total domination. Everytime he shows up. Sure he may break the first few outings but once he gets it dialed in nobody will be able to touch him.

.
if it was an 850 hp engine, it wouldn't make it out the door since it would be down on power big time. something would be serioulsy wrong with it.
the hp/cu in. ratio is really amazing for a pushrod engine not running on nitro.
very similar base to a drag motor, but can just last 600 miles.
all the major players are right there with each other. one just might have a better mid range power package than other for a short period of time. it all depends what you are working on and focusing the development on. takes cubic dollars to feed the constant development. it is constantly changing.

Fly Hi- Fact is dyno numbers mean nothing unless you are comparing motors on the same dyno. I can take the same motor to three different places and have a 50hp variance very easily. A dyno a is tool to use as a reference, something to let you know if you are gaining or losing on what you had. I can tweak the correction factors on my dyno to be able to say my pro-lite motors makes 360hp, but does it mean anything? Not at all. The real test is on the track. Good luck hooking up 900hp in Pro-2 with a 12.5in tire anyway.

Ok I conceed... RG just told me he contacted Doug Yates yesterday and took all your extensive advice. When he called Doug he said all the guys on race dezert say 600 horsepower will get the job done. He also told Doug that since Ford will be paying Doug for all the motors he doesn't want 2 fresh ones every race. RG said he would be running 100 laps at the most all weekend and felt with that great distance 850+ horsepower may be too much for him to handle and because Jonny Greaves only has a "Claimed 700hp" he shouldn't have 8 or 900 because Jonny's the greatest off road driver in the world and he wants to be just like him.
So to summerize everything: RG told Doug not to make him the most power possible because he only had a 12" tire and it might not hook up.
Yup, RG doesn't want 800-900 HP and Yates can't make that kind of crazy horse power anyways.
Oh and Chase, RG has been trying to reach your agent for a Dakar contract but he can't seem to get a hold of you. Call him... 1-888-UFN-WISH

Nope not me. Its a pic from a vintage calender known simply as "Checker on a Husky". The pic is of a friend racing a 1970 400cc four speed Husqvarna back in 1971.
