They ran practice and now they are going to be doing qualifing. The lay out of the track is the same as last round exept that the jumps are a litlle different. It isnt too hot but the wind sucks.

tim from dirtnewz (who runs the show, im just the sidekick/color guy) had to go to baja on saturday to go with track marking crew to lay down the final baja 1000 map. (if that makes any sense) so we're not doing the broadcast, but we will be back for chula vista in 2 weeks!!

What?????
Man Dirtnewz is missing the boat on this!!!
The only thing that made it ok to be in WI and not Cal watching the race was knowing that I could watch updates live on Dirtnewz with Pistol Pete!

Weather is nice.....the wind wasn't bad today....seems to kick up more at night....track is fun, multiple lines, lots of flyaways and whoop sections.....one of the Pro lite trucks managed to go completely over the wall in the turn after the stands.....but he stayed on his wheels and joined practice again - Noel, I think.....? I'll try to post up some pics in a little bit - if my connection isn't too slow! :)

...DIRTnewz will have full coverage and updates all weekend long including video and interviews as always...We were there all day Friday and the drama is deep after Maxxis Creighton King claimed that Kyle LeDuc was using an "illegal" tire...didn't matter because Maxxis Rob Naughton laid down an epic fast lap in qualifying to beat him. The drama continued to unfold into the evening...

Jerry Whelchel and Tommy Morris lost a brand new motor in the Monster Pro 2 on the third lap of practice. They will go to the back up motor, but the question is whether the back up motor can compete with the boys up front.

Adrian Cenni drove his blaze Orange Pro 4 through the back of turn 2 and up on the K-rail suffering significant damage to the truck that force Case and his crew to work late into the night.

Jeff Geiser, driving his Pro Lite bent the rear end and Jason from Tubeworks took it to his shop 80 miles away to work on it and fix it before Saturday's afternoon race.

...its unfolding from Antelope Valley

Attendance was NOT sold out yesterday. Stands had some empty space to them but I heard ticket sales were pretty good.

Yes there are ALOT of Pro-Lites here. 3+ showed up after qualifying Friday. Problem is they run them last and over half the fans leave for the day. Stands are empty when they run. They need to run them before the main event!

Attendance was good, track was great and fast... Johnny Greaves led the pro 4 race and lost it on the last lap, ended up hung up over the K rail watching the rest of the race from there. Pro lite had a Knarly flip, endo, full gainer, with a twist, over the table top....no injuries...good to see no injuries after witnessing the endo at Primm.

Problem is they run them last and over half the fans leave for the day. Stands are empty when they run. They need to run them before the main event!

That is to bad. The Pro Lites are great to watch! It is a very comptetive class and is worth the time to stay and watch. IMO.

This was complete BS! How many times has Renezeder punted people to take a win? Greaves did go in deep, but Carl didn't have to turn and accelerate into him. Rest of today was bitchin, Jeremy did a hell of a job holding of Rob, one little bobble up on 2 wheels and that was it. I will upload a few pics later.

x2 total BS! Carl regularly does worse to others, then when his driving style bites him in the ***** he protests and points are docked ?!? I've got a lot of respect for those running CORR but this call makes them look bad.

Garit Wallace got a pair of fourth place finishes. He now has 4 straight finishes of 4th place. He is very consistent. Garit drove a clean race and missed the carnage all around him. The Sacio and Garit maneuver in Sunday's race was awesome (photos at Garitwallace.com (http://www.garitwallace.com)). There are a ton of photos of this weekends race from AV on Garits website.

Here are a few. More at http://www.garitwallace.com (http://www.garitwallace.com)

Also I've noticed, when (non-family)racers roll or crash theirs no full course cautions.
But if (family)rolls or crashes it's full course caution??????

Every racer gets the same treatment on track when it comes to safety regardless of who they are. A full course yellow is usually called when we cant clear the track fast enough or is to great of an obsticle/risk to run the trucks by on a local yellow only.

How about holding up the restart for an additional parade lap when special people are in the hot pits?

As far as safety goes...i think it was rediculous CORR let Carl back out on the track with the tranny fluid ALL OVER the engine cover and pouring out the door that caught fire later.

And CORR has a bank of DVD-Rs hooked up to the various cameras to go to for proof and also all of the track personnel in the area are questioned-so understand that you may not like the decisions but they are not made on a whim...

It was def. clear from the stands what happened. It is a common tactic in supercross racing but instead of centerpunching the guy or in this case driving over him and flipping yourself over, they back out of the gas and get passed...aka closing the door. I think carl was just upset with his dissapointing weekend and had to get something out of it.
