I have a parcel of property that we use for motorcross there is plenty of room to put in a short course. One of your's gave me the idea, he rented the track for the day and we talked about how there is no place to practice. I'm willing to put in the track, but I wanted to get feed back from you guys. I was thinking between $200 to $250 for buggies and $300 to $400 for trucks (about half of what I've been told). Holding a practice once a month one day buggies next day trucks. Please give me your thoughts.

Have you considered the liability? Do you have adequate insurance for this activity? Chances are you've thought this through, but I just want to make sure. Additional practice tracks would be GREAT for the racers and the sport, but I also would hate for you to get hung. Unfortunately, there is just too much of that crap happening these days.

mxfreak's track is an operational track right now. by no means is it a backyard track, and its open to the public. insurance is in place.

Any place to practice with a track and watering capablities would be great. The track would have to be somewhat be simular to what we race on, fast turns and mellow jumps.
My only question is why would it cost more to run a truck vs a buggy. I know Corr did this at their last session which is why I did not go, It was way to much. Not sure you would get enough vehicles to justify two seperate days, at least in the beginning. But I think you would get enough for a one day practice once a month. The problem is most race vehicles seem to get trashed together the week of the event.

Like Rob said, the track needs to be similar to a race surface. Not that any seat time is not great, but it is so expensive to prep a truck that it needs to be real testing, not just having a great time. I also was wondering why Baldwin charged Pro's (basically trucks) $1000 and buggies only $500.
Good luck,

mx freak is willing to work with you guys.
i have brought to the table of concers what you have just posted. along with some design inputs. I have a good feeling of what you guys need, and he has the ability to make it.
looking to have prices significantly under what corr charges. lower overhead contributes to this. and organization of pratice weekends in advance will help us help you.
use this thread to get a group of people interested and PM me with any questions or comments you might have. after a significant list is built we will make announcements on what will be happening.

Racer dude and a few others are my reason for this, they expressed the need, and being an off-road person all my life, would like to try to fill a need. As posted earlier insurance is already in place and as far as building the track I have been friends with Dick Dahn for many years, so any needed input is right at my speed dial! I will be working with racer dude and others to get this together as soon as possible, but I want it to be a nice place and done right so that all of you look forward to comming on a consistent basis. Thank you for all your help and input.

Larger pro teams (P2 & P4) can afford it. They are trying to be fair on the sportsmen, and should consider ALL privateer teams in this ideology.
Maintenance does not have anything to do with it, once they hire a blade and a water truck for the day, its a done deal.
Make it $250 per team and you will have a home run hit!
